Very shrewd move by the Castleford board IMO. Powell is bound to be attracting attention from other clubs, especially those where the coach will be moving on. Its been a while in coming, but Cas are on the up now with DP & Danny Orr in charge.

Brilliant news for Cas, really pleased for the club, and hope they continue to prosper under him, except against us of course!

I'm inclined to agree with this.

As concerned as everyone rightly is about the number of players who are seemingly leaving at the end of the season - I'd rather every single one go and keep Powell than have managed to keep them all and have a new coach.

Probably sounds like an overstatement but set your mind back to where we were before Powell (with on paper an arguably stronger side).

Powell will make sound signings who will give their all week in week out.
