| Quote ="littlerich"I want to see the team that destroyed Leigh in the first half two week ago but we seem to get the one that came out in the second half all too often. We DO have the ability but we're not consistent enough or clever enough.'"
Yet again, i didn't go to yesterday's game and i'm glad reading the reports on here, FB & the texts i've had off a couple of friends who were at the game. I've seen enough of our 2nd half giveaways to convince me that the lads aren't fit enough to put games to bed and put two similar half games together. I won't apologise if that upsets anyone connected with the club, i pay at the gate & it's my opinion. To say we're badly coached is sometimes a bit unfair 'cos i believe unless you've been involved in the training sessions how would you ever know ? Maybe some of our players don't carry out the instructions given to them ? Maybe individuals don't want to stick with the gameplan ?
I keep hearing we're looking to bring players in, well i hope we don't leave it too late, we need to be aiming for that second spot. If the club aren't ambitious enough to have a go at this so called promotion at the end of this season then it might be time for me to call it a day being a regular supporter & just pick up an occassional fixture when i've got nothing better to do, there are no vibes coming out of the club. I don't know why but i'm not hearing very much at all. I've made my feelings known to a couple of club officials over the last season and a half and they are good honest people who i trust, with the club at heart but players, coaches, scouts, fitness men come & go, they go where the work is, it's always been that way. I just don't think we're good enough from top to bottom compared to some of our opponents, we're not a big club anymore. I'm really disappointed that not enough of our juniors are pushing 1st team players for their shirts, maybe some players are too comfortable within the senior squad. It feels like the whole thing needs a good kick of the Jacksie.

| Colin couldn't agree more. My fear is the club is currently held together by selotape and some of the emails I've had from the club as a fan are disgraceful. I think wholesale changes are required across the whole club as the environment currently is not great. Purely my opinion but saying that I know lots of people feel the same. We feel like a club in crisis yet nothing changes ever. I certainly have no confidence in the people running the club. Feels like a jolly boys club rather than a professionally run outfit.

| Quote ="halifaxjohn"Thanks Gregg for starting this thread, some people have posted about today's game on different threads.
I was very disappointed.
We seem to have no game plan, and team selection seems strange to me.
As someone has said on the other thread Robbo and Scott missing, yes we know, but surely we should have a strong enough squad to over come that.
As usual the forwards worked hard, no creativity at half back and two wingers who want to either be first receiver and get nowhere or cut back into the middle.
As regular readers will know, I wear rose tinted glasses with my head buried under the sand, but, not today, hugely disappointed.
I have no idea what it takes to be a coach, nor a director of a Rugby club but I do think we as a club need more creative thinking.
Both on the field and off.
Just my opinion, often wrong seldom right.
'"
Cmon John , you and Fax fans like you ie ,Bentleyman , Littlerich , Swifty , and the Duchys , are the heartbeat of the Fax forum , the team need your support , you are all great fans , maybe sometimes looking through Rose tinted specs but don't we all ?Its not over for you yet , I rate your team , ive said every team will lose a game you wouldn't think they would , it happens .Some Leigh fans are saying we will go through the Season unbeaten IT WONT HAPPEN , someone will beat us more than once , we will have a bad day , we all do , dust yourselves down get ready for the NW Crusaders next week , im predicting a WIN for you there .

| To take 8/9 points away from Cumbria is a good effort that most teams will struggle to do. If we beat Fev at home, donny and Sheffield which we are more than capable of doing well get 2nd. There's a lot more twists and turns yet before the end of the year.
It's such a shame that majority look at the negatives.

| Simfax, please tell me the positives that you see this year then. I will then raise you with the negatives and deafening silence that comes front the club. Drawing to 11th in the table seems acceptable to some.
Bastian will be sacked in the next few weeks at Fev, because the board have ambition and know when enough is enough. We had Faisal here and he left for Fev, why ?.
We have/had Abbott here, can't buy the shay and then we hear nothing at all. It's woefull, especially from a man who apparently made his money from a successful marketing company.

I totally agree Teddy , the season is far from over for Fax , the 2nd spot is there for you , Fev for me will struggle their pack is very depleted , morale at Coach level very low , the Fev fans said Bastion would be on his way this morning if they lost to us we shall see on that point .The seagulls squad is not big enough for me , Bat and Dews are no threat , leaving only Donny , im not sure about them , I AM sure about Fax though and feel you will come good , I had a feeling about your Worky game , but I think you will improve as the season goes on . Good Luck .

I can understand your frustration at the present time , but no team has a divine right to turn up and win , you say drawing to the 11th in the table,as if it was a failure , maybe Worky played well ?I don't know , I do feel we at Leigh will lose a game this season that nobody expected us to lose , it happens .As for a Clubs ambition I saw at first hand at the Leigh game recently the amount of hard work and effort the Marketing Team and Directors are putting in , a great match day experience , I think the problem lies with your coach , im not saying get rid , but do the players truly want to play for him ?We need a strong Fax team in this League , I for one truly hope you turn the corner very soon , I think you will .

Sorry mate and I admire your positivity I really do. However the Cumbrian sides this year are pretty poor and 3 wins is a must for club who allegedly have top 2 ambition. It's fans like you that let the club off the hook by playing spin doctor, looking to find positives when a radical shake up is required. I understand you wanting to be postive and many say I'm too negative. I just say what I see as you do and we all want the same thing. However we have a coach who has taken us backwards, crowds are declining, marketing is non existent and the club seems out of touch with its fans. That to me is a travesty...... I agree the league is more competitive but you only need look at Worky's results lately to see we should be beating these sides. The decision to let Brown go after a half gets injured and a month KH must have had an idea Murrells missus was giving birth just shows what a clown we have for a coach. You build a squad to cope with injuries, suspensions etc yet we will get all the excuses going..... I fear the direction we are being taken in and can't see us beating Rochdale or Donny or Dewsbury for that matter away from home based on current and previous seasons under KH. Mediocrity should not be an option we should settle for.

Positives for me,
Tonks in super form. Tyrer back to his best. Potts and cowling look class. We have in Ben J one of the most exciting players outside of SL genes him getting player of the month in April. Keith Holden getting a chance at last. Competition for places in the team. We are half way through the season with allot play for, we have some big games against the teams around us in the league, if we win more than we lose well finish 2nd.
I agree that the crowds are poor currently and that the club have to be seen to do more to improve this.
On the whole i can't see any reason to be pressing the panic button.
Think positive. There's only Leigh who are at the minute way in front in terms of performance and we should have beaten them! If we'd have won that game I think the attitudes on here would be a lot different.

| Bastian was/is Fev's version of David Moyes. Difference being they've acted before its too late for this season. Yet were stuck with KH , what does that tell you? No ambition, no finances? Not sure but our Board should have acted by now but they either can't or won't which either way is not good enough.

No panic button just 3 years of boring rugby, mediocrity, an excuse laden coach and bizarre squad selections? No panic button required as I feel in the current form we will continue on a downward spiral unless things change quickly. You can keep polishing your turd as long as you like or burying your head in the sand but our coach isn't up to the job.

| A cracking read this morning on where we are currently at/going with both sides of the argument well put. Main point is we all care about the club and want the best for our team and its supporters. I am a 'half full' person and still believe we are capable of doing something. The worry for me is that I think we maybe struggling for finance and have been for some time. That is not a good place to be and does restrict what we can do both on and off the field. It then becomes a downward spiral and that is the risk we run if we do nothing. I agree if you accept mediocrity-that is exactly what you will get-mediocrity.Time for the true leaders to stand up-both on and off the field methinks and make those tough decisions.

Cowling had a disrupted pre season because of injury so I guess he can be excused for looking out of sorts but Potts looks more than out of his depth. He cost us the game against Batley and the game up at barrow contributed to making Cowling look terrible in the 2nd half. I would have Paul White back and I dont think he is anywhere near good enough for a top 6 team.

I feel Colin that various players over the 3 years have played under Rhino and many times the team has looked clueless and void of a proper gameplan. If it was just one season fair enough but Fax have looked very poor and underachieved with different players etc that Karl has brought in. It just seems to me Karl is not the coach for us and his methods have not worked for various squads. I put that down to him rather than individuals.
Harrison said: “I’m naturally disappointed that we didn’t win the game but at least we are going home with two. Harrison said the biggest problem he had was preparing his players when they didn’t know what they would be up against.I thought our forwards worked very hard, as they had to, but our backs just didn’t sparkle. We didn’t ask enough questions of Town when we had the ball."
Excuses again from Karl. Every week is something. Sorry but we should be good enough to beat Workington and it is for me a feeble excuse saying Wigans Dual regs made the Difference. Why did we allow Simon Brown to go on loan and bring nobody in? Mennell at 6? Recipe for failure is down to Karl and his signings and tactics. Top bloke but was a mistake to bring him here as coach. He has had long enough to prove his worth and has failed. Fax will not do anything under Karl Harrison and the board need to start looking elsewhere for a coach who has a clue about modern Rugby League and how to get the best out of players. Even if we do somehow manage to get 2nd place I cant see the club doing well under Karl looking at the past 3 years.

| I understand that the board of directors have invited us all on this forum to match the funds they have put into OUR club over the last three years and that Karl and his coaching staff would welcome our input on training nights and match days.

| Never been an Adamson fan and Cowling has looked poor. Heaton - not sure, not quite been there this season.
I feel we are missing Robinson and Worrincy. Rob pushes hard and teams struggle with him. Saxton as his centre would be awesome.
I feel the issue as at number 6, Murrell for me needs to play at 13 therefore we need a number 6 - I have no idea why Brown hasn't worked, I would be tempted to try him again with Johnston.

| There are a number of disparaging remarks about Workington on this thread but how many have been aware that we have had a run of injuries over a number of weeks where we have had upwards of 7 players out at one time. On Sunday we put together our fit players with four Wigan juniors - Murphy (played all last season for SW Scorpions); Farrell (under 19 player hasn't made SL debut yet); Manfredi (winger making his first appearance for us) and Powell (again first appearance for us but has been playing a few SL games) - but for your coach to say that the four Wigan players were the best players on the field is just poor excuse making comments.
The players who were the best on the field were local players Brett Phillips, Marc Shackley, Carl Forber, Graham Mattinson, Liam McAvoy plus Andy Bracek for yourselves. Under Phil Vievers I can see a lot of improvement in our team and don't worry one or two others will lose at Derwent Park this season.
I think Mr Harrison needs to look at his own squad and his own abilities and not look for excuses. He never mentioned the fact that Town only had 1 recognised prop forward in our squad and that although we had 17 names on the team-sheet one of those players, one of our starlets Callum Phillips, didn't even make an appearance so we played with a 16 man squad.

Not sure where the disparaging remarks are on this thread, personally I think Workingon were the better team, as I remarked to one of your supporters when I left the ground.
