Good game. One or two very basic errors by the ref. 2 identical ball steals, ones a penalty and the other is play on. Did the rules change during the game? Second half first 5 minutes Hewer pulls Leigh for offside then you look at the replay and think, but were they? I was worried about us playing Leigh after watching the first 20 minutes, they tried to play a lot like us. After watching the rest of the game though they looked pretty average. Looks like they need some decent half backs to take them round the field. Barrow looked pretty poor in the first half and im pretty sure a good attacking side would have put a few points on them but in the second half they showed for about 30 minutes why they are a champion side. Lucky break for Leigh in the end because they didnt look like breaking through a paper bag.

near to the line, leigh looked like only had the one move. acting half to a stationary paul who then turned ball back inside. barrow were waiting every time.

couldn't agree with you more.robby paul seriously needs to change his game when we're on the oppositions line.we made it far to easy for them to defend.after the oldham/york games i thought it was going to be another long season then we stepped it up against fev & then again last night & we think there is still a lot of improvement to come from this squad.

What you have to remember is Leigh are a very new team and should get better, especially with our 2 biggest transfers Bibby and Nash not playing yet.Moves will only develp through the season,but the basics of defence are already there and as a Leigh fan I feel optomistic of a decent season.

I think lots of teams will lose to each other this year and Fax do look like they have the best squad, but I would not bet on many sure things this year, anybody can beat anyone at home with a few surprises on the away games as well.

You are right to view Leigh as a threat this season GFB. I went to watch them against Featherstone last weekend and they played as they did for the first half last night, for more or less the duration of the match, but with fewer handling errors. The pack and the halves were impressive. Featherstone and I am sure their fans will agree, were very fortunate not to concede fifty plus points. I know their fans also felt, that their poor performance largely contributed to Leigh destroying them, but I must admit Leigh were excellent. Credit must go to Barrow for withstanding an early onslaught last night, that many weaker teams would have capitulated under. When Leigh put it together for the full 80 a lot of their opponents will struggle IMO. I suppose Barrow are not reigning champs and the bookies favourites to repeat their success for nothing. It should be an excellent comp this year. Looking forward to it.

I thought last night was a great game and a deserved draw for both teams. Decent referee, decent crowd, good physical defence by both teams, that head clash between Lee Mitchell & Andy Bracek was brutal, how the hell Mitchell got up and laughed is beyond me....
Don't rule anyone out this year, Toulouse will improve on last year, Leigh will be very difficult to beat at theirs as will Batley & Fev along with the usual suspects of 'Fax, Widnes & Barra, what a season we're in for !

I can't help thinking that Andy Ellis was a big loss for Barra, Henderson will be interesting for them.

Emmit reminds me of Paul Prescott when we had him on loan - a real workhorse who puts in the hard yards. Need guys like that if you've any chance of playing decent rugby, as 'Fax will be well aware of.

Missed the game last night as I spent the night with my Bradford Bulls suporting Girlfriend and she as not got sky (allthough she promises me she will soon be investing in it) but it sounded a classic and it seems to me Leigh are improving all the time it really is going to be a great league this year who needs super League?

we dont need SL what we need is bigger sponsors but we wont get that until we have our own TV deal & that not going to happen until our chairmen start making demands of the RFL like the other lot do.

The Championship with £300k a club from a TV deal would be a fantastic FT comp that would devalue SL forcing them back to P&R.
Drop the Frenchies to SL, 15 club Championship, drop the NRC to end of season KO comp, top 8 seeded, bottom 7 and C1 generate 8 more, 3 games and a final in September. Start the season in March and no breaks.
