It is quite worrying the mentality of some of the people who are the main protesters though.
I can understand Town fans are desperate but there seems to be no depth to how low some will stoop to criticize. Some still seem to think its a rugby vs football thing, that was apparent last night at the Q & A, but it really does not matter that Fax have been tenants longer than FC Halifax Town or who has gone bust the most times, or any other crap like that. Neither team can be painted in a great light especially recently but it is clear under the council nothing is going to be done with the stadium and in all likelyhood funding will drop further and theres a chance that they will just want to wash their hands of it.
Anyone with half a brain can see at some point in the near future that stadium is going to be put up for sale and at the moment there are no guarentees that it will be for sale as a sports stadium. I just hope if the minority of Town fans get their wish for the stadium to be kept by the council then they have a plan b for when it goes belly up. Strange though Ive got a feeling that the minority wont get their wish.

That's strange because, according to your lot, his company has no money. How then does his company manage to lend money? You can't have it every way.

Malcolm, someone has posted on the Courier story about last night a search for a pay day company which occupies the same premises as Reactive. On that search It clearly states "Companies near by" which low and behold are all of Reactive media's.
Make great limbo dancers these people, how low can you go.
May I respectfully re post my earlier comment, again no disrespect intended, nor in my nature?
"I do not wish to be rude, but, in my humble opinion and I stand to be corrected, the majority of posters on that forum have the mental dexterity of a pot of paint and I don't mean Dulux more pound stretchers own brand.
No disrespect intended.

The point is the stadium does not belong to the rugby or football it belongs to the Community as they all pay for it but at the moment nobody is welcomed into the place at all even the rugby (who are called squaters) .It`s time now to move on and build a facility we can all be proud of and use ,our Town deserves decent facilities why don`t we let him get on with it as long as the Council have checked it out.

| The actions of Halifax Town fans are a total disgrace. You dont agree with the sale or like Tony Abbott fair enough. But the tone and the actions of many on their forum, Courier Website and elsewhere is a disgrace. Tony is more successful than any of the losers on that forum. Halifax is sadly a backwater town compared to Rochdale, Huddersfield etc thanks to people like the Town lot, who are frightened to take a bit of a risk and live a dream. The Shay is not in safe hands with the Council who could easily sell it to a developer in the future. Tony maybe is not Mr Perfect , but I would rather trust him than a Council that has such a poor track record as Calderdale Council has which fails to make its promises and has allowed the Town to fall behind the likes of Huddersfield

| it would be easy to produce a massive list of examples where "living the dream" has led to financial disaster, and if that happened here all you experts would be calling for the blokes head.
The way I see it is that
a) the football fans are happy seeing their team perform well at a reasonable level with lots of fixtures to get excited about
And
b) the rugby fans, realising that any hope of meaningful success in a hugely declining sport lies solely on taking a massive gamble on this guy
As an accountant for a huge energy company (I'm talking over 100bn assets worldwide) I know full well why not to gleam in awe at those who have made plenty of cash in business.

Jeez some people will turn over every single stone in the land to unearth something that justifies their position which is abundantly clear - we do not like the rugby club and anybody associated with it.
Reactiv are on the whole a data cleanse, marketing and media company mostly and not a pay day loan company, you seen any adverts about that at all anywhere???
Town are doing pretty well and as a football and rugby fan I am chuffed, but face the facts Town are in the 5th level of football and at best would do okay in League 2 but that's as far as they will go.

| Hey guys, don't waste your time upsetting yourselves on other forums. At last nights meeting it was nice to hear sensible and genuine questions all round and it was important that true town fans and followers of both clubs had a voice. Both clubs unfortunately have an element that we should not be proud of but that's apparent everywhere, not just exclusive to Halifax. The greater good will come to the fore and Tony Abbott will purchase the Shay in my view. At the end of the day we both will benefit from a superb complete sporting facility that the town can be proud of as well as receiving a substantial reduction in rent. Cant see the problem myself! Some people out there need to grow up.
Good luck to both clubs, this is what we need in my view.

| Most town fans do not want the registered director of "want a payday loan Ltd" in charge of the Shay for a number of reasons and this won't change right up until a decision is made.
The coming days/weeks will be interesting but one things for sure; a successful bid would look to be a huge gamble and risk for both clubs (upside or down) and it's obvious that the rugby fans are more willing to take this due to their clubs forced stagnation.

Town bellend.
The only problems you Neanderthals have is that he's connected to the rugby. It's in every retarded comment and every daft accusation. You're a sad bunch of losers with a history of loser mentality. In your previous posting history on here you come across as being a Halifax RLFC fan and then a Town Clown. You are one sad individual - along with Eliot Walsh and his cretinous band of twitter degenerates.
Reading your drivel and the rubbish spouted by the rest of your Wendyball gang has made me wish it even more that Abbott gets his hands on the Shay. What will happen to FC Halifax then? Sweet fack all - you'll just carry on as before and you'll be so surprised when the sky doesn't fall in.
Why don't you spend more time making sporting Halifax clubs a success instead of littering the social media with pathetic poisonous rantings. Go and make your existence worthwhile.

| Who's doing the name slinging now?
To reiterate what was said, the sale would be a risk (upside or down) for both clubs whether you like it or not. Given the football clubs recent history this is not wanted, contrasting with the rugby which is in need of a shot to the arm. You shouldn't be so sensitive.

It seems to me Nigel that you are clearly looking at trying to antagonise people. Believe it or not but some of us want both clubs to be successful, yes! even rugby fans. Its my belief that this whole anti Abbott witch hunt has absolutely nothing to do with the man as an individual or even his personal business dealings which you seem to be an expert in. This has everything to do with his connection as joint Chief Executive of Halifax Rugby League. Honestly! Its a really sad situation. Had Tony done this independently of any connection with Rugby League then may I suggest that he would have been embraced with open arms by all.

| You know what it is people like this guy who make me think that whilst I am hugely proud of my town it is held back by negative people who cannot see anything good in change and want to have their two penneth worth in everything cos they are always right in their eyes when they are actually often wrong. Small minded small town people.
AMBITION is not a word I associate with Halifax sadly, yet things do happen despite these dinosaurs and when it does they all go 'how good is that', it will be the same when the new library is built and opened, people will love it and wonder why all the fuss?
I hope I can come on here in a couple of years time and say the same about the Shay.

| You are wrong. There is an element of cognitive dissonance in both sets of fans beliefs I would admit, bur I would honestly like both clubs to perform (admittedly more so the football) but there is too much open-endedness in this guys plans for me.
Please note that I have not once abused Mr Abbott.
