This is getting out of hand.

Personally, I'm not interested in any of these ideas. This started out as kit sponsorship and has slowly been taken over by these out of the box musings. It is something for the users of this message board so that they can help out the club and have a chance at winning a piece of playing kit; something they can keep. I mean, sponsoring the crossbar or advertising the forum on it. Per-lease.

Sorry to pour scorn on that idea, but I really think it is half-baked. Also, is giving the player a gratuity strictly legal, and not everyone would be able to go into the bar after the game to give it to them. I couldn't. How would the player be voted for during that game?

I'm sorry, but unless there is an alternative idea that EVERYONE likes then we're sticking to the original idea.

It would not hurt however to ask the club if there is uniquie opportunity that involves some playing kit, u never know TS we could end up with more!

i have had a few messages, so thought i would post on here so everyone could see

some of the ideas mentioned have been good and i think a unique sponsorship would be good for both parties.

however we feel that things could be complicated with bar passes and dinning options be given. it would be hard for us to monitor (what if you lose the bar pass, who does it go to at the end of the day etc) and hard for you to choose who gets them for each game (is someone who gives £5 equal to one who gives £50? who gets it for a big game V Widnes etc)

so we want to try and keep it simple with us giving you things that you can raffle (shirts, limited edition pictures, signed balls, hoodies etc)

i have personally mentioned that you could sponsor a full kit and the crowd as the 18th man. the crowd has been sponsored in the past, and it would be relevant for a fans forum to sponsor this.

it also means the forum gets mentioned on the PA and in the programme, so possibly new members

we can then arrange for around 10 items to be donated for your cause (to raffle or do with what you wish) and should overall offer a decent value for money that shouldn't cause too much hassle or potential problems

overall it is up to you guys though, and the club will try and offer you something that you are all happy with. we are more than willing to listen to any ideas that you have.

Well I think the idea of sponsoring the 18th man is a good one too but I will go along with what TS wants.

I know it's early, (t'was the GF only last week), but I'm wondering if there will be enough of us to participate again? TBH, we struggled to get enough participants for a while, and some people had to put in extra to beef up the pot.

Also, IF we do it again, how do we want to choose the kit we wish to sponsor? I know that there will probably be players coming and going for some time yet, but will we want to do a poll for which number we want as players are allocated squad numbers or do you have any other ideas?

Any comments and ideas?

I think some of the points rasied are valid, lets keep it simple, 10 or so items to raffel under TS suggested lottery system seem the simplest idea, £5 = 1 ticket £50 = 10 tickets

to me 10 items seems a lot more than 2/3 kits for sharing the prizes out amongst the contributors

I also really like the idea of the message baord getting mentions at home games and in the program, the more members we can get on here the better thre banter and posts!

And the more people who use this board, then there will be more people contributing to the fund next time we do it.

Sometimes, it seems to me, (I may be wrong), that some people seem to think that this forum is owned by a Fax fan. It isn't. It is owned and operated by RLFans.com and is moderated by four Fax fans. There is/was a subsite called FaxFans.co.uk that is/was owned by Nat, but that is now more or less defunct as no-one administers to it anymore.

i think the ideas are good.
It's borne out of having more pledges than the required 175 for a kit.
I'd rather have a bit of variety than just 3 kits. I like mr fax's idea. If we can get a kit and a bit extra, something unique for our wedge, i'm all for it.

Well what we could give you is a kit sponsorship as usual, plus sponsor the crowd.

the sponsor the crowd part of it would give you a mention over the PA when the teams are named ( and as always todays 18th man is the blue and white army, sponsored by RLFAX. or soemthething like that



plus we could also give you another 5 or 6 prizes such as a signed ball, signed pictures, hoodies, replica shirt etc (these things would ultimately depend on how much you end up raising, as we would compare the costs of what each prize would cost.

this would overall give you around 10 prizes to raffle plus a weekly mention on the PA

abit of publicity, some prizes and some money for the club. this will hopefully leave everyone happy

hope this clears it up TS. as i said its all negotiable and will ultimately depend on the final figure. (the more raised the more prizes)

but most importantly, a big well done to everyone on here. the amount raised so far is excellent, and everyone at the club appreciates it.

Can't we just forget about the Sponsorship extras, get a pair of socks from the club and have a Free Bar with what's left, for the entire Grand Final Weekend

Sponsor as much kit as possible, that then gets given away at end of season via a raffle.

If the club / courier could throw a promotion of the RLFANS.com somewhere as well, as this will benefit future donations, that would be a bonus.

now that looks like a cracking proposition to me, we get what we set out to do, kit sponsership, lots of extras, mentioned every week at the games

it looks pretty much like a done deal to me!

James it was simply an idea and I am happy to go with whatever. Many years ago the crossbar at Thrum Hall wa sponsored on either side giving it good coverage on the TV. Personally I'm not bothered about getting anything back at the end of the season but appreciate others will want to see something for their money.

I was thinking of extra revenue streams that the club currently don't get, leaving the kit sponsorship to businesses and individuals to take advantage of. Surely EXTRA money to the club via another marketing stream is even better as it is a FRESH line of income?? - Thats is how I was thinking and giving us at the same time a unique marketing opportunity.

Sorry, Chris, but I disagree.

Businesses have something to gain by having the visual advertising on tv - the forum doesn't. By that, I mean it will not generate any revenue for the forum, (and we're not looking to).

With so much having been pledged, we're going to have to sort out what we want and what we can get for our collective contribution so I can start collecting all the pledges in. (This can take a while.)

Why not do a poll of some sort? Democracy and majority rule and all that..
