As a Fan for many years i have been asking a few people who i know used to be regulars why they dont come anymore, especially now we have a good team and are watching a great brand of Rugby. The answer that i get mostly is " I have been to the games where its a Tenner but i aint paying £14".
We are trying to entice the old Fans back but remember we lost most of them in 2003ish so to come back now and have to pay £14 each dose seem a lot especially if you come as a couple and its £28 + burger + pint etc?
One idea i had was to set up a direct debit over 12 months for season ticket to spread the cost a little.
(eg . 20 Games at £14 = £280.00 Divided by 12 Months =£23.33 per month or £5.38 per week.
Not sure if its viable but just a thought ?

We got over 3000 for the Widnes league game. I agree with what you are saying though, the crowds are increasing though.

Can we put a big advert in the paper saying Town are playing on Sunday and trick the Town fans into coming?

They are flying high but by how much will their away support improve?

We should get over 2800 v them, top of table clash. Don't think they'll bring over 200 but they will bring more than in NR Cup.

We got well over 3000 against Widnes-the problem is for the Sheffield game they have a tiny fan base and will not bring more than a small hardcore of fans similar to Gateshead and Batley and guess why people feel we will not reach 3000 again.

Widnes have no problem getting over 3,000.

Widnes didn't lose 80-90% of their matches over the course of 2 seasons though


It's going to be tough, but slowly we are attracting people back again. I will freely admit i became disillusioned with rugby league after the relegation (attended every game that year - now that was tough!) and also the Faz years, where Ben Black was probably the only thing worth watching. I had a break from watching Fax, but still looked out for their results and it wasn't until Martin Hall came in that i came back down again. I've been hooked again ever since and i think the main issue is that we need to encourage those people who, like myself became disillusioned with Fax to just try us out again. While we are winning the majority of matches this is also a great time to encourage new support in the younger generation as kids always want to support a winning team!

generally true, but the switch to Friday nights is not having a good effect at all. I think for the home game with Sheffield we got less than 3,000.

I just hope that Matt has got the lads working on tightening up the defence again. They started off the season well but for the last 2 or 3 games it has started to slip again.
