they make a big play on SOC and their expensive yoof structure, what smacks me is the fact that Widnes have all their finances in 1 basket, should anything happen to SOC then Widnes are just another basket case.

They may jibe as Fax cost cut but our position is solid and sustainable, not reliant on single rich backer.

I dont think anyone can knock what SOC has done for them. Im sure that if we had someone like that we would have done exactly the same thing. Just think its funny that some on there see every comment in the press as a dig at them.

What makes me laugh is the banging on about our stadium!! (Widnes fans obviously very well informed NOT)- The Shay is now up there with one of the best facilities in RL (no ridiculous queuing for tickets) and Calderdale Council have signed off our capacity in its current state as 10k, once the North Stand issues are sorted our capacity will then be raised to 14k!! - Huddersfield would not be able to use The Shay next year had the ground not got a 10k capacity in place!!

Widnes wouldn't be able to run the sooper dooper yoof structure without SOC, so yes I am saying with the clubs current structure and without SOC you wouldn't survive.

As for Fax cost cutting - it's well publicised that the players and coach have accepted paycuts for 2011, precisely the reason why Branighan has gone and most probably our superstar Shad Royston.
