We could not afford Craven when Widnes were trying to off load him so I would suspect his value has gone up since becoming a 1st team regular. Hampshire I would take in a flash if Leigh did get rid but I think we would be near the end of a long line of clubs who would also want him and again not a chance we would get near the wages he would be wanting.

Haha give over, I were one of the most positive people on here last season when people were talking about us getting relegated. This is just me been realistic, there is not going to be a money tree that suddenly appears with the new people coming on board. These are shrewd business men that will help try and get the club to continue on a sound financial footing.

Contracts are null and void when you get promoted or relegated but that doesn't mean you can't sign a new contract with the same club. Maybe not on the same terms.

I doubt Leigh players contracts are null and void to be honest. I wouldnt be surprised if most of them have wrote in either a raise or reduction percentage if they either they stay in the division or are relegated.

Harry is a prop/ second row with size and potential. Worth looking at Champ 1- Comp getting stronger year on year.

As I said, I don't know him so didn't comment on the actual player. I'm sure he has potential and I hope he proves to be a great signing, BUT, does this signing excite? Will it have people buying season tickets? And will a player with potential take us to the next level and get us competiting in arguably the toughest championship we've ever had?

Even the announcement of this signing has been laboured. Something said on Friday, 1 clue on Saturday, then announce. You only have to look at Rochdales twitter over the last week and they're building hype for every signing they make. Might seem a very minor point but the hype around the Micky Sio signing was great, his one not so much

We would all like to see top names etc being signed but we are back to that word 'realism' again regarding funding of such signings. The Board appear to have a clear mandate to manage the club within it's means rather than boom and bust.
The new signing may have been playing Championship 1 but all players have to start somewhere and sometimes a little bit of unknown helps the team and also surprises the opposition.
We have to have faith in RM's judgement as a coach- which to press has seen him being nominated twice in the three years for coach of the season in the Championship, winning it once.
Like I say DNAFax I get where you are coming from, but we simply haven't got the financial clout at this time I fear.
