I went to watch Greetland 1st at home to Halifax Irish, there were 5 1st teamers out injured so some very young ( 16 year olds ) stepped in & performed admirably leaving the 2nds desperately short. My understanding is they arrived at KXP with 10 fit players & when 2 more got injured the ref called a halt to the proceedings, the scoreline that fed back to Greetland at the time was 28 nil.
I wasn't at all impressed with the Irish TBH, Chris Holroyde was his usual brilliant self but other than that they didn't put many combinations together & the Greetland lads stuck with it.

Colin, spoke to Symsey today, his lad plays for KCP 2nd's (he's going to be good) confirms your view. Although he thought it was more than that at half time, but not as much as the 50 my informant said.

I was hoping to chat to Symsey myself at the gym this aft but the lazy sod blobbed ( again ), their youngest lad was in though, he's on scholarship at Hudds Giants as an U14, they're both great kids & have a lot of potential at RL and cricket.

I'm hearing reports that the young Greetland 1st team have had a kicking again over at West Leeds this aft after threats of such nature when things turned nasty at the final whistle up Greetland early on in the season. Why the Pennine league ar$eholes allow such clubs into our local league beggars belief after the troubles they've caused before switching.
Am not so keen on my youngest lad's fixture being on in the U18's national cup away to Oulton tomorrow morning, when I got up for work at 5am today it was minus 4 on the car temp thingy ! Any pitches that have recently been played on and suffer anything like a frost will be rutted up.

West Leeds are a typical Leeds side, horrible horrible people.

Bloemy's old legs will be tired after playing in the Littleborough mud on saturday & reffing York City Knights v Leeds Academy on sunday !

Did get there. Surprising enough the pitch was very good. Prior to Christmas it was in a terrible state.
1st half Park played down hill, and it is quite a slope, 13 nil up then half time 19- 8
Then it changed final result 19- 38
Park have a very young side and Irish have some very big players. Credit to KCP they never gave in.
As I always say, Rugby League at any level is very hard. And played in a very good spirit (usually)

He has strained ligaments in his neck and has severe concussion and is unable to remember much of what happened or a few hours after but is out of hospital now.

ouch, what a silly game

Worst issue that can happen in amatuer games is neck and head injuries. You just hope the teams have someone there who knows what they are doing which is rare for teams in and around division 3. At Queensbury we are pretty big on the medical side and looking after the players. Have seen some awful treatment of players that go down injured by people who are not qualified and that is in the premier division where you would expect every team to at the very least have a qualified first aider but teams just avoid the situation.

From what ive heard Keighley was very careful and got an ambulance as soon as possible and did everything right, by not letting the player try to move or even moving the player.

Word on the street is that KXP have been thrown out of this comp for fielding inelligible players ( 3 of !!! ) If this is factual ( and not rumour ) they should have played 10 versus 10 and might have given themselves something of a chance

Was the ref bad? He was so bad it was funny, the game was played in such a good spirit because both sides realised he was consistent,
Forget the score, KCP lost heavily, it was such fun I have decided not to follow Park, instead I will follow the ref. I will now go and watch every game he referees,
Some golden oldies for Park, Ged, Ollie, Binsy,
Ollie played for the full 80 mins, apart from two 10 mins spells in the sin bin. The first was harsh, he didn't kick the restart quickly enough for the ref. The second was harsher still, he called the ref a clown, apparently the ref took exception, Ollie meant it as a compliment.
Great entertainment.
