I'll tell you what TF it was some of the so called doom and gloom mongers that saved the club. If I remember rightly when Mr Linnane was removed from his post it was down to fans (Mick Stansfield & Co) who shouted loudest and came in as advisors to the board after a pityful dispaly away at Saints. I don't recall people complaining then. Also when we started the Supporters Trust up and I was one of 9 people who turned up that Saturday morning (after a plea in the courier for supporters to help), nobody bemoaned about us as we were at the time trying to get a voice on the board primarily as fans felt the club was going down the toilet. Nobody complained about Fans whinging then as you PC correct Forum dwellers call it.

We're a long long way from the Linnane situation are we not? I think what Tony is trying to get across is that there's no need for the over bearing hysteria on some of these threads. We're not in Leigh's predicament. We're not out of the comp like Widnes. We have a GF semi-final date next week but to read the stuff put by some fans on here you'd think we'd just been relegated to the conference !!

Yes but people being called doom and gloom merchants are people (as I see it) like myself who happen to disagree with the regulars on here opinion.

It doesn't mean I wont be on the terraces on Thursday cheering the lads on becasue I will (my luck though the wife will go into labour at 7pm on Thurs!!). I still feel we are again the underdogs carrying poor form into what is one of the most important games in recent history. Our coach has made errors in selection etc etc, we've covered all that. I always listen and reason with people, I like to debate but these things have to be 2 ways - Other peoples opinions (right or wrong) are important and I will always argue my own point. Doesn't mean I am right though. Yet the regualrs on here seem to preach they are right just down to the fact that all newcomers talk =blue[icack[/i

The abuse I recieved when first logged on was unbelievable, accused of being someone else etc.. Widnes don't seem to have the same clique.

To be fair chris_smith i know where you coming from, every forum dicusses tactics, team selection etc etc for what it's worth 'cause that's what us fans do, but (and i dont know if you are one of them, i dont study each individuals posts to know that much) you must see that a lot of people are FAR to negative, coming out with not just opinions but absolute rubbish about some things, being quite personal about some player and personnel at the club and just being negative for negatives sake. They're the problem at the moment in my opinion.

I do see where you are coming from entirely. My point though is Fans felt the game v Saints was every bit as important as the game last night. It plunged us into a potential relegation dogfight and fans with influence within the club stood up. I feel last nights game was just as important in the clubs history yet the players out on the pitch seemed disinterested, not up for it and that is a worry, surely you can see that too. Therefore people like me come on here to post our dismay at the display.

In the last 3 months if you count the number of threads saying "GEt behind the lads" surely tells its own story too . . . . . . Surely you can see that too?

We all want the same thing but certain people in my opinion bring the tone down a notch or two by personal insults and rude names and that surely cant be right either?

The games changed since then to be honest. I still see no relation between that game and last nights. Last night we still ended with a semi in our back pocket and because we can't get promoted either way, we have 2 years to try again.

Am not saying you're WRONG out loud, if thats your opinion fair enough but i dont think there should be this much negativty, even if some is justified, before the game. Just because i think we should be positive for the team etc. I think is more the timing of a lot of peoples posts that annoys me more than owt to be honest, rather than the content. Just leave it till next Thursday night and let rip thats my opinion.

Inter-poster abuse is just as wrong as the abusing player aswell, whether we're paying their wages or not. (that's just a random statement btw chris_smith, am not saying you abuse the players)

I'm not saying the game hasn't changed. What I'm saying is that in Fans eyes the games were both deemed (at that momrnt in time) important enough to speak out and voice an opinion. Its ok saying be positive for the players sake etc but did they think of the 500 fans who spent hard earned cash to get to Barrow beofre they put in a poor effort? - I watched a gme tonight (Leeds v KR) with a similar score line but Rovers fans can say there players gave there all but came up against a Leeds side who were read hot on the night. I saw pride, passion and commitment from Rovers. All this lacked (in my opinion) last night. And is the basis for fans reaction. Do you understand mea bit better now. I'm better verbally than typing it out!!!

Sorry mate, I'm spoken for, and I'm into women!! For the record, the Fax fans in the pub last night were very philosicabull and only seemed to knock penky and frank. Other than that .... placid ... and looking forward to next week.

We scraped in to second which is a fine achievement to a certain extent. But we got lucky with having Leigh and Toulouse as our final 2 games. We got into the Semi whether we won or not having got into second place. So the achievement of a Semi is not as good as you are making out.

The last 2 months has seen Fax nosedive both winning and in the standards in playing. Teams have blips and teams can lose a couple of games in a row. However to go 5 games not winning and seeing no improvement in defence or attack is my major worry and why I personally do not feel MC is right at this stage to take Fax much further.

Why I am not too impressed with MC are the following:
DEFENCE wins games and we know for the past 2 years we have a major problem. Players are running out of the line.A lot of Players missing many tackles. What has MC and his team done about this as for me its seems nothing has been done. For me work should be done on Linespeed and moving up as a line or using some type of defence system like umbrella or whatever. I see Fax just have players shooting out the line or ball watching. Others simply have poor tackle techniques. I do not think MC is teaching/Coaching them properly

ATTACK we have the best attacking team in the comp and one of the best in British Pro RL. Much of that is based on the quality and high skill we have with Black, Penky, Shad etc. BUT also we have them often running around like headless chickens playing not in their normal positions and panicing and making far more mistakes than normal. If our off the cuff system is not working where is the system we use? As far as I can tell there is none its just pass and hope. Why for example do we not look to build pressure? We needed on Thursday in that first half calm heads and a calm system. 5 drives and a good kick and chase. We did not and gifted them an intercept making our life harder. We needed to play Barrow in there half but we played the majority of the game in our half chasing them. I do not feel MC is at a level to take a team like Fax further. We need a strong Coach who can change Tactics at any time. We need a Coach to play people in their right positions. People knock Penky but he aint a halfback and neither is Beswick. Play people in their Natural positions!

ATTITUDE Why do we seem to lack energy and passion? For me Fax play as though its a chore. You look at the passion and energy levels in Barrow for example over Fax-Massive difference and I could see in the first 5 Minutes Barrow wanted more than Fax-and that hurt me. I could tell in the first 20 minutes we would lose by 30 odd and said that at the time as Barrow were offloading and we were doing loads of defending due to poor tackling and not stopping the ball getting offloaded. For me Fax looked very flat indeed and I cant understand that and wonder what MC is doing. We improved a touch 2nd half but we were still miles behind Barrow mentally and Physically. I hate it when people make excuses. Be honest with yourself and others and for me MC seems to have a list of excuses instead of admitting when he is wrong in picking players who are not fit, playing players out of position and getting tactics and the bench wrong. I have never seen him say-"Sorry I got it wrong with the Bench or Sorry my tactics were wrong"
OTHER THINGS I think Fax has a reputation of being a drinking club and MC comes across as one of the boys and then gets himself in trouble (Both in Town and Blackpool). The players need some discipline on and off the field. They need a father figure head. They need somebody who gives them direction on and off the field. I do not think MC is that kind of person. I do not mind players having a drink or two. However not 2 days before a game and certainly not during a 9s Comp. Where is the Professionalism off the field?

For me we have done well and credit to MC and everybody for 2nd Spot and our best year for over a decade. But I want us to kick on further. I love the club and want the club to be the best. I believe the club had the potential to win the League and the NR Cup. I see that as a small failure. I had hoped even if we got beat on thursday that we would take the game to Barrow and show them we are the best-but was bitterly disappointed by the attitude and display. I believe still that we can get to the GF and win it. However long term I do not feel MC can take us much further and things need to change in many areas for me to change my mind. If people do not like that then tough. I speak my mind and stand by my opinions. I respect others who think Calland has/is doing a good job. But I have given reasons why I do not think MC can take us further and hope people can understand why I have come to this decision without throwing a wobbly like Tony Fax for example.

I wouldn't mind a final to be honest, might bring back a few more floaters for next season
