New teams take time to gel; however I haven't seen that much in pre season that make me think we can go all the way this year. Leigh for me are one of the benchmarks... and they pounded us...

No, not at all. I said I know teams take time to gel, what I went on to say is that I haven't seen anything showing me that we are starting to gel in way that will put us in the mix.

You are going to be without Nanyn also. I was talking to him and he is having a scan on his knee but thinks it needs surgery.

Yes it was, but he said it wasn't as bad as thought, but still out for 2 months. Think we need to start looking for loanees or D/R sooner rather than later.

Well if you went you would have seen that there wernt many more, if any.

Having watched the game again I`m in full agreement with you.The entrance was phenomenal.

It never fails to make me chuckle when fans on the loosing side of a friendly game trot out the "well It's only a friendly" and fans on the winning see it as a precursor to league domination . I include myself in that analogy as well LOL.

For what its worth I think the leythers will hand out a lot more of those kind of beatings this season. I think they will run us very close again, with batley n sheff giving a good account of themselves.

I was somewhat disappointed in 'Fax on Sunday - they seemed a shadow of last season's side. Still, if you take forwards of the quality of Aizue, Barlow and Divorty out of the mix, the pack's lacklustre performance can be explained to a great extent. To me, you also seemed to miss the likes of Black (Handforth has always been good, but Thackray was poor at Widnes) and beswick.

I guess that highlights the dilemma for all of us - take a few key players out and sides (including us) will struggle.

The thing is that the team we had out, at least on paper, should have been able to compete with Leigh. The worrying thing is that we didnt even get close to competing with them. The only thing i guess we can take out of it(apart from our enterance) was that we dropped the ball so much that our completion rate was horrific. Now im sure if we kept hold of the ball a lot more then the scoreline would have been closer so personally im not overly worried by the result. From reading a couple of the players tweets it looks like the players got the rounds of the kitchen with Worrincy in particular looking like he copped it, but rightly so, he looks like hes never played the game before and is doing himself a big diservice. Hopefully we can show an improvement against Hudds reserve team and it will give us chance to put some things right.

Your pack got battered on Sunday. You have plenty of players to come back in the forwards so I'm sure that will help massively but to say that the packs were evenly matched on sunday is just deluded
