No you are right, when things like this happen people go away never to return, not just Bulls, look at us, this is why we are trying to literally drag people down when we were always getting 5K plus at Thrum Hall. I don't wan to annoy this people who never came down the Shay(and doubtless won't as they will not be on here) but they followed the team, not the ground where they played.
But, people's circumstances change , I used to geo to every match with a group of 16-18 mates but I think only a couple, if a that, still go. I'm not in touch so that shows how things change so new ideas are required and not just saying we want/need people to come down.

It was at the end of the season (or very near the end) that they took the points off us. As we only had the two points from the first game against London, it made little difference!

As as been noted, we were pretty competitive at the start of that season, but just couldn't get the wins we needed.

I recall talking to Stephen Pearson at the start of that season. He had just come from a meeting of the SL directors, as they were coming out of the building, GH asked him how they would fare this year Stephen replied, mid way will do us. To this GH replied , you won't win a game this year , and as they say the rest is history, to the point of deducting the only points we got.

It made a difference to me. Lol. Me and my mate went to every game and WE earned those two points.

Move on, when I were a lad!!!!

I think that is true for all the Championship sides, not just Fax, but it doesn't stop any of us dreaming.

Anyway here is an interesting question for you, and anyone else that might like to have a guess. There was only 5 teams in the Championshoip that averaged over 1000 for their home league games can you name them?

In truth Dave I think there are only four, the first three must be Fev, Fax and Leigh, I will take a punt at Batley for the fourth and finally the one that doesn't really exist is Sheffield.

I guess Barrow would be somewhere near. Crusaders could be another that will trouble the 1K mark this season. Guess it shows how bad Batley and Sheffields crowds are for what teams they had last season.

You're getting some mileage in lately pal, i'm sure your last minute decision to travel back from Burton was worth it with the win against us last week, i was surprised that you'd actually made it in time. I'm sure you lads will have a great trip out today, who'd be your favourite drunken candidate to miss the bus home, Rob Braithwaite ? haha, don't tell him i said that, i've just seen the pic he's posted on FB of the inflatable sheep, one can only imagine !!!

I reckon if Bulls were to come down to Championship, their crowds would take a serious hit but their support would please some of the poorer clubs they'd visit i'm sure.

Has to Rob was told they were taking bets on facebook as to how much of the game he'd see. The trip back from Burton was worth it, but am biased



Think you're right that Bradford would bring fans and money to all clubs in the Championship (as would Wakey) shame the same could not be said about London.

Even though Wigan are rotating it should be a hiding for the Bradford team and Im not sure that does the yound lads many favors at all, playing SL when its very unlikely they are anywhere near ready.

Its a total difference to Wigan where they have the luxury of adding in a few young lads to a top quality set of players, Bradford are adding yound lads to a set of players half of them who would struggle to do a good job at a top end Championship team.

Looks like Wigan took off the whole team after an hour.

Shades of our relegation season throwing a load of young blokes in together. Ollie Roberts ended up with a broken leg from what i hear.

If that's right then he really does have all my sympathy. If the Bulls persist with this policy then he may not be the last.

Bradford have to do all they can now to keep people coming through the gates even though they will only likely win maybe 1 or 2 games the rest of the season.

A while before the points deduction (2nd Feb to be exact), I mailed the RFL to the effect that a drop in competition level for the Bulls was the best/right option for them and for the game. Not surprisingly, I didn't get a reply, but.....
