| SHEFFIELD:-For those of you who are able to go to Sheffield on Friday night the city has a real treat in store for the real ale fan. This is a city centre crawl as the ground is in a field near Rotherham somewhere! At the railway station you will find The Sheffield Tap (NI). A great refurbishment of an old refreshment room, the pub has a bewildering array of ales on, and although pricey its not to be missed. Exit the station and walk diagonally through the bus station and you will reach The Bankers Draft (W) A massive 'spoons on two levels. Outside jump on a tram to the West Street area and get off near The Swim inn, a Wetherspoons due to close down I am led to believe. Just behind this is The Bath Inn (NI) is Sheffield's equivalent of The Three Pigs. Six ales on in here. On nearby Wellington Street you can find The Devonshire Cat(RA) Twelve handpumps in here! and very nice food. Enjoy your ale, enjoy the match!

| WORKINGTON:-Not the best area for real ale and a stop at Cockermouth is the best bet. On the main street is situated The Bush Inn. A warm welcome here with 4/5 ales on and good food. Turn right out of here and walk onto the Market Place to reach the Castle Bar (RA). This again does good food but has a great selection of ales. Very atmospheric in here. If you are going straight to Workington The Henry Bessemer (W) is on the road down to the ground. A large 'spoons with the usual ales on. In the centre tucked away on Portland Square is The Green Dragon Hotel. A friendly hotel where you can get B&B and has a couple of hand pulled beers to try. Enjoy your ale, enjoy the match.

Good evening Pete, hope both yourself and Diane are well? When we visit Cumbria we have dined at a very nice little pub not far from the Greystoke area,as you know I'm teetotal but the food is very good, last year's we were playing one Cumbrian team and Fax were playing the other both in Cumbria and there was a few Fax fans in the Pub dining , only thing is I don't know what it was called, but the Coca Cola was the real thing , ice cold , just as I like it. Good luck on Sunday.

| Despite going every year I still find both grounds difficult to picture in my mind which ground is which until I actually get almost there.
Am I right, Whithaven the free sausages and Workington the long car park with the strange social club before you get to the turnstiles?
Or Visa versa?

HS,
The next time you go to Sheffield you should try The Three Tuns, The Shakespeare, Kelham Island, The Fat Cat and The Harlequin all good ale houses. Though I have to admit The Devonshire Cat is one of my fav pubs.

| This is a great thread but with not being a Fax fan its a bit out of sync. I'm sure it will be more relevant as the season progresses. However with me being an arrogant Leigh fan will you be doing a similar thing for Superleague grounds.

| London:-I'll start in Central London for anyone going by train. At Kings Cross Station you will find The Parcel Yard. A vast transformation of the old station parcel office this pub boasts 12 handpumps and that is only downstairs! Breakfast is served until 1145. A short walk will take you to Euston Station and The Euston Tap. A grade II listed lodge, this is one of the few remaining parts of the original 1830s station. Eight changing handpumps in here and a piece of British history. Up to Ealing now and a host of pubs outside Ealing Broadway. The Sir Michael Balcon(W) is a split level pub with the usual 'spoons fare. On St Marys Road, The Red Lion is a traditional London boozer. Opposite Ealing studios, this is a family run pub with very good food and has most Fullers ales on. Enjoy your ale, enjoy the match.
