All I can say to put my point of view forward is I would rather be relegated with a team of Halifax players than 'succeed' with a team that isn't Halifax. How low can we go? We are Halifax RLFC. I can't believe after what happened with DR last season we are even discussing this.

No I'm working away. I guess he probably put some good spin on it but personally I am against it as I believe it is no good for the game, or Fax. It is only there to allow SL teams to have bigger squads and is a way for them to keep THEIR players match ready, they don't care about the lower clubs.

yes Neil arber and Hudd shay spoke strongly against DR and i am in 100% support of them.Richard said he would consider DR if it was to the benefit of this club.That's tantemount to dismissing it in my book.Apart from this gaffe RM came across really well
and i am looking forward to his coaching tenure.

But if for instance it was say as an example, a Hull player who scored to win us a game in the last minute of a match , it wouldn't be us would it? It wouldn't be Halifax.

When a player runs onto the pitch representing Halifax rlfc then I for one will cheer him all the way to the try line. Because of the lack of a major money man willing to put money into the club the bod must find other ways to compete in this new era, d/r done correctly is one option.

That is just spin. Mr Poskitt mentioned the parent club. I don't want Halifax RLFC having anyone telling us how to run our club, and whatever spin people try to put on it that is what will happen. You disagree with anyone telling our club how it should be run, yet you are stating if they don't do what you want, you'll never support the club again. I think Richard made it quite clear that any loanee coming to the club would do so under the control of the club.
For the past three years we have watched some rubbish that cost the club many supporters. Yet we are all still here.
I ask you to wait and see what happens. Too long have we struggled. Now the BOD has changed things for the better. The coach and BOD having open meetings with the fans every six to eight weeks. That's never happened before, so obviously the BOD are listening to the fans.

I plead with you to give the new coach and the BOD that are trying to make big changes a fighting chance.
As supporters we have gone through more thin and famine times than fat and feast times. Stick with it Shudds the club needs you.

I disagree with other clubs telling us to how to run our club. That is what has happened with DR and that is what will happen to us if we go down that road whatever RM or the board say. Supet League clubs only use us 'lesser' club for their own benefit, end of and if anyone can't see that then they need to open their eyes. It isn't just about Fax either, DR is wrong for Rugby League from the top to the bottom of the game right down to amateur and junior levels. To those who are wavering towards accepting that we should join this ridiculous bandwagon, I say that if it wasn't right for Halifax RLFC last season, it isn't right now. Sportsman, shudds. I agree with your point of view. I took Richard at face value, he seems a genuine person. If things go as you expect, we the fans need to do something about it. if we disagree with something the club is doing we need to stay and fight for our club, because Halifax RLFC is bigger than the BOD or any coach. without the fans their will be no Halifax RLFC.
Shudds, stick with it, don't walk away, that will achieve nothing.
If next season we take dual reg and the parent club starts to pull the strings of our club I'll be right at your side. Barrs lemonade 0% Mmmm

Mal, I really admire your commitment to our club and appreciate the time and effort you put into Fax, but at the end of the day as Karl Harrison once rightly said, if summat Isn't right it's wrong. I will wait and see which way we decide to go. Up The Fax!

But, would Richard Marshall have joined a club that was prepared to let other clubs dictate our team?

Surely he doesn't see this as a job for life, so he is going to want to prove that he can compete in our league with what he has got.
For some to say they would rather get relagated than D/R shows a total lack of respect for our club.
We couldn't survive if we got relegated.

Personally I would rather the club lost the support of the anti D/R's than the hundreds that would leave if we ended up in Championship 1.

The BOD in the last 6 weeks or so have convinced me that with a lot of hard work and everyone pulling together we can give it a real go next season and get some smiles back down at the shay again.

I'll take Richards word that he'll manage the DR/loan system so it's not to the detriment of our club.

It's going to be a tough league next year and we need to give ourselves every opportunity to succeed on and of it.

Richard has not much chance really to bring in his own players and may feel he is not happy with what he has and look to bring in a Dual Reg player to help get a type of player he wants. I am sure Richard will not just go down the DR route for no real reason and from what I understand would rather not.

In my humble opinion, this is a two way thing, D/R could give us bite where and when we need it. How many times have we heard the coach say "it's hard to plan for a game when you don't know who the opposition are playing?" I like other don't want to see 'Fax dictated to by other teams getting players fit only to take them back, on the flip side if D/R is used correctly and as has been mentioned like a loan we have used the 'short term loan' ie 3 or 4 weeks to our advantage, we even loaned players out to get them fit, only to recall when we needed them. Give the BOD and the Coach some credit to operate the club to the best advantage for HRLFC.

Just seen 'meet the coach' on Fax TV, thought he came across very we'll. I think we've got a guy who wants to go places and he's a man with a plan. Glad to hear his favourite position is full back and he will want his team on the front foot.

Very interesting, and we will never know, but would Richard have let Ryan go and how many players would he have kept and how many of the new signings would he have made.
I think the fact that Karl made all the decisions on the playing staff for next year means the board would have retained him.
Strange also that if they would have, that after he left Mr Steele said the next coach would be one who would encourage attacking entertaining rugby.
I for one welcome the breath of fresh air.
Back to Nigel's question about Miles, why did he leave us, do we know?

Didn't he leave as he had a teaching job or something.

My question wasn't why Miles left but had he signed for next season. I don't think Ryan would have been Richards sort of fullback. For all Ryan's qualities I don't think he gave us that explosive return that can put a team on the front foot.

Maybe the Miles signing is a rumour......I hope not the lads quality.
