| Just like to say that having listened to Tony Abbot he still sounds passionate about Fax and RL and spoke well about what is needed.
Hopefully we will hear more about Fax and what is happening shortly.

| Haven't had time to watch it yet being at the game.
TA has been to the games recently I know I saw him at Rochdale a couple of weeks back.

| Just watched the show and it's a very un-polished hour and a half.
Simmonds is obviously a radio man. He really needs to keep his hands still when talking.
JJB came across as quite a funny guy, however a couple of the VT pieces made the Sky tv presenters look good.
TA had a few comments about the RFL's lack of marketing..... Can we have some please.
He dud however seem that he is still in for the long haul (fingers crossed).
All in all , as a first attempt, not bad but I'm sure they'll review and amend before next month's.

| I for one hope Tony is still interested at Fax and I'm sure he is.
Also Agree with the lack of marketing comment...can we have some?

| Just watching Rugby AM, Tony talks a lot of sense and nice to see him wearing his Halifax tie. We're lucky to have a guy like this involvedin our club IMO. Loves the game and the club.

| Having watched it TA looks to have put some thought into the way forward.
In what he says relevant to the Championship there is the hint of the possibility the more ambitious clubs could overspend which carries some risk.
In that context the Fax approach seems to be don't spend what you haven't got.
I've said it before it will be interesting to see how things pan out next season with the big spenders and the rest.

| The real overspend issue is what will happen if teams breach the salary cap. Will the money they get for potentially finishing in the top 2 be taken away, will they be deducted points?
Who knows as the RFL won't know what rules they will be working with until they make them up.
As per Barra, guilty of loads but did we get anything from their breaches?

Yep could happen but there is the allowance to spend more within the cap if they have a certain turnover, is over 1 million?
The thought I got was that some clubs might be spending more than they actually had in the bank now to get the first and second place so even if they did get the extra cash some of it had already been spent, then what.
It's gambling on success, which demands more success etc etc.
Each next step on the progress ladder is even bigger and they would have to do it again but with more and more money involved each time and the first time it doesn't work out they could be in debt.
I just get the feeling Fax are staying within there current means trying to get the funding right and be competitive but taking stock, having a look at how things pan out but are not prepared to gamble.
It would seem as far as TA is concerned the commitment is still there there's still life in the Fax.

| Whether his 5 minutes at fax was a success or a shambles, it's good to see Alex leading this show. It certainly wasn't polished, but there were good bits and it will get better. He his doing his best to promote Rugby League, and I would rather watch this unpolished amateur pilot than the tedious sanitised B&A.

Me too, it seemed just basic down to earth Rugby League chat and banter, even the suits didn't suite but they were having a good time doing it.

| Contrasting view here . I thought the TA interview was quite interesting . Definitely not going too spend what we haven't got and some good views on marketing . I enjoyed former ref David Campbell's recollection about the regal trophy final and a good bobby goulding story but I thought the rest of the show was amateurish in the extreme and pretty poor .especially the quiz at the end of the show and the mickey taking of super league players was just not funny - perhaps we have different levels of humour but it was quite pathetic imo.

If TA is still with Fax for the long haul why doesn't he try telling the fans that? I keep hearing rumours that he is gone at the end of the season due to the threats he received from FCHT fans and his personal situation. These may well be just the usual rumours but the continuing silence from TA (and the rest of the BOD) just fuels the fire and is leading to more and more supporters jumping ship. TA is not usually one to shy away from the media and the fans and his enthusiasm from last season whether you were for or against him is sorely missed.

It's a fair question and only TA and the BOD know the answer, as I have said before the last time he said anything significant it back fired so maybe he's keeping his plans a bit closer to home and rather than the big statement just quietly going about his business.
I am not convinced that's why fans are not coming, as stated in the RL press the question was asked "Where have all the fans gone following the good showing at he world cup".
Adam Pearson the Hull RLFC owner stated on Boots last week that as a club they had experienced a 10% year on year fall in attendances and this included the period leading up to and after their Wembley Challenge Cup Final appearance.
That doesn't help us of course and the problem is once fans do stop coming how do you get them back?
