| Really encouraging today.
The kicking game, particularly from Handforth, was first class and made for some excellent field position.
The defence was superb also and the team spirit clearly evident.
Fax good, or Dews poor? A bit of both I think!
A great start!

| Well played fax!
Attack was good...especially the kicks.
Defence was solid, and we would have kept them to nil if the ref wasn't determined to give them a try.
Today proved that our forwards are capable of winning any battle down the middle. The backs didn't have that much space to run as it was a small pitch and Dewsbury were always offside!
But on a bigger pitch like the shay and our pack plays like that...just let the backs do the rest and we can beat anyone!
Great start. Also nice to see all of the players celebrating every try as if it had just won the match and celebrating at the end as if they'd just won the NRC. Shows they really want it and we have great team spirit.
Can feel us thrashing Rochdale next week if we play like today.
PS SIT DOWN FOZZARD!

| So ' Nick ' is following in the footsteps of big Barrie and Mick Cassidy in thinking they can drop down to the ' cheap seats ' and knock the natives about a bit? , well he'll be in for a shock

| I wouldn't disagree with the previous posts re:Robinson but I thought our best prop was Jimbo closely followed by Josh Barlow, his best performance in the senior team that I can remember. All three half backs were brilliant in the right areas of the field, Reittie, Whitey & Fieldy look solid at the back & good going forwards so I reckon Rob W is waiting for a downturn in someone's form or an
injury to get back in 'cos you just don't sit an out and out winger on the bench. Ashall is more than versatile & with the missing forwards, Patto & Haley to get back to fitness things look promising, I honestly thought we'd struggle today and came away from the game in great spirits.

| Well I thought that we would struggle but get a close win today which was crucial as we cannot afford to lose 2 games.
We actually played exceptionally well and really stuck it to them, great effort all round well done lads you played as a TEAM.
Well done to Rhino who was brave playing so many young lads in such a tough game on a tight and very heavy pitch. Its how they will learn but it was a gamble but they did not let him down and in Handforth we have a true general on the pitch, his kicking was excellent he is Mr Reliable.
Came away beaming today that was some performance, we made Dewsbury look poor.

I don't think they needed any assistance to "look" poor. They were poor!!
Dews offered precious little to test the fax defence and in turn Fax soaked up all that Dews could muster and looked comfortable throughout the game looking well organised and did what they had to efficiently enough.
Fax were by far the better team but just how good is difficult to assess against what was yesterday a woeful Dews team.
We'll see. They play us next sunday after we have had virtually no game time because of the weather and having to play Oldham on Wednesday night.
They could raise their game v us OR get another tonking if they play like they did yesterday.
One things for sure, if they play those two at 6&7 Briggsy and Liam will have a field day!

| To be honest Dewsbury were terrible and to use that game as any kind of measure regarding the rest of the season really is not realistic. The acid test is obviously how a team competes against quality oposition. A decent win yes,but one swallow does not make a summer as they say

| Excellent all round display. Thought Morrison put in a good stint, especially after eyeing up Fozzard from the off. Handforth's kicks built the pressure which had beeen missing under Calland, we'd always try and score instead of turning the screw.
Onward and upward.

Hey nobody is getting carried away but we can wallow in a good performance no matter how bad the opposition were, their pack tried their best but got battered which was a big surprise, they just lacked creativity which I believe was partly down to 2 missing players according to Warren Jowett.
Yer I am sure they have players to come in and will be harder to beat next time there but as our first game up and with some of our players out I will take it who wouldn't?

Warren Jowett is a dinasour who belongs to an entirely different era. Just about everyone in RL can see that barring the Dews BoD. Or perhaps they can but just can't afford to pay him off and as there's no relegation they are prepared to stick with him for the season when his contract ends.

| Fax were awesome from start to finish!
i cant remember the last time our forwards dominated so much in a game. we literally battered them.
Handforth is just class. Fieldhouse looks brilliant at FB in bad conditions. Adam Robinson is a signing that didnt excite me at all, but he has been i think our best signing. Morrison is an animal!
with players like Sam B, Makali and Ross divorty to come back into that pack we are in for a great season!
Worrincy doesnt get back into the team for me if he is fit next week, as Whitey did everything that was asked of him on a tough day for wingers.
All that with Patto and James Haley to return, and our squad looks extremely strong.
