Not quite! Just think if the 3 Fijians had turned up, imagine our squad then. Our bench has been a bit weak recently, when you think weve sacked Ian Bell, lost Lee Mossop, Lee Dutton isnt playing at the moment and Liam Campbell is out for 2 months injured a bit of strenghtening was needed.

He's entitled to his opinion, after all "he's played against all the teams", but cannot agree with him for one second. He says Barrow have quality in all positions... erm.. dont we also???

Well, to be fair, he would hardly be likely to say "Halifax are the best team but they weren't interested so I signed for Barrow" now would he?

I'm not saying which team are the best but every new signing makes a comment like this about their new club.

Plus when he played us it was our second worst performance of season.

I posted the story in response to someone who said he'd gone AWOL and hadn't signed.

I find it amusing that pretty much every player we've signed gets labelled as cr@p because he didn't sign for Fax. It's true he's going to say all the right things when he signs for a new club, but surely now at least a few of you Fax fans can admit that we have at least [ia few [/idecent players.

The match at The Shay may answer a few questions as to who has the best team, but most Barrow fans are just happy to be competing at this level in our first year.

The real gauge will be how the season finishes and who wins the Grand Final.

I dont see anywhere on this thread that someone has called him "crap". Could you point out that post? Im my repsonse i said im glad we arent as a club looking to stregthen our team by taking players from a team that are bottom of the Championship. I stand by the fact that i dont think he is good enough for Fax. Do you see him being more than a squad player at Barrow?

He'll be in the 17 man squad every week if fit.

It's a bit daft to think that no player at Doncaster would get into the Fax set-up. What's to say that Fax haven't made enquiries about some Donny players? I'm sure they will have.

As for him not being good enough for Fax, as I pointed out in an earlier post, both Bauer and Goddard played as centres for Hull KR in 2007. They are very similar in many respects.

No it doesnt - it states one persons opinion on him. And as for Bauer being similar - look at the stats for 2007 - no contest that Goddard was the better player - played 20 times compared to Bauers 12. So its obvious who HKR at the time rated the better player.

Why is it? And im sure that if we wanted some of the Doncaster players it would have been mentioned. Again im glad my team arent looking to strength the side by taking players from a team at the bottom of the Championship.

Not a bad player but not as good as Goddard, Barker or Haley for me. Fax amongst other teams may have enquired if he would sign but put off on what he was asking. Barrow clearly have money and they do have some quality players and a very good coach. However there are a number of teams in this League who have quality players and a good coach.
I am glad Fax have not signed him as he is an overseas born player who would lucky to be on the bench as Fax. Thats not to say he is a "Crap" player-just one that is not really a benefit to Fax at this stage.
