There's a lot of speculation on this thread. About (probably) 2 separate issues.

1st been the "secret" and the 2nd the article in the paper.

I'm as guilty as any for speculating. But I still don't think if it was anything that could be considered bad news there'd be this big build up.

There's plenty of good things gone on at Halifax in the past couple of years. Lets just hope this announcement is something that will take us on the next step. We always hear about Fev building for the future, and with the possible and likely league restructure after next season some changes will need to be made. Widnes made a big thing of "ticking the box". While we have already done that. It might not be a requirement this time around. But there are other things that will have to be done and put in place if we were to enter a second tier super league in 18 months time

The huge investment in players needed far greater crowds and missing out on the NRC final has compounded the issue when added to no cc payday
As a consequence a cash injection is needed and the opportunity to purchase shares is the best way

Unlikely. We already have a solid lottery and the gold club on top of that as well. Adding to it would complicate it and cause confusion

Perhaps that's when they think he grass will start growing and we can all go down and see the green shoots of recovery.

Havnt we done this before though and I think if it were that then people would be skeptical of doing it again.

Yes, I think your probably right, a new electronic scoreboard will be such great news, it really will galvanise us supporters and bring us closer to the club, making us feel part of the club. Perhaps they will let us man it on a rota basis.
I understand we are also going to get new toilets in the North Stand, that's great news, perhaps that is the news, what about a new chip van? Is that the news? Now that would excite me.

Been there , done that they are languishing in a drawer somewhere , surely they wouldn`t want to do that again? Must be something new they have come up with I would think.

How about an additional major sponser / new invester joining the club?

In a dramatic turn of events , Halifax rlfc have been given a huge amount of money to be spent on returning the club to its Thrum Hall roots , bringing back the old slope , Scratching Shed et al and with it a prime time Tuesday night fixture against the touring Aussies with nine thousand fans packed into the ground . That was some night wasn't it . Early nineties . Although we lost that was one of my most enjoyable trips down the old ground . Fantastic atmosphere .

Maybe the club is putting steps in place for the first team to go full time in 2014/15, but that would clash with the proposed pay cut issue, unless their is another backer coming on board.

Maybe some sort of funding to get the main stand corners finished for better hospitality to get some extra revenue.
With an electronic scoreboard as well of course, you know you want one HJ.

Only if it goes above treble figures for us, the home team, and single for the visitors like, Leeds, Wigan etc.

After all this build up I really hope it is something big, new and exciting and the club doesn't end up with egg on their faces!!

I've got a copy of that game, (most of it), on dvd. Taken from a video of the old Scrum Down program I think it was. Some great names playing for both sides.

"Juniors" was mentioned at the game today by some in the crowd.
