| I think that Yob and Greg Florimos boots need to man up and stop being keyboard warriors on the forum. If I have a problem with people I would speak face to face with them rather than type childish digs on here. See you in the playground you pair of puffs
I've been involved at the club for a few years and I have a great deal of respect for the people that seem to be getting slagged off. I have seen how much work these people put in and believe they are a valuable asset to the club. Malcolm Powell gives up a hell of a lot of time for the club and does some great work.
Mike Riley does an unbelievable amount of work and I think he's a fantastic club person (that should be worth a pint if he reads it!). Sarah and Jenna's workload probably equates to 5 different job roles and I wouldn't like to shell out for their prozac bill.
There's loads of other people that work hard and if i've missed anyone out then you know it's an oversight.
Going back to the topic I think there's been some good comments on here. Regarding the club sponsors I can only say that we always do our best to look after them on matchdays and make it special. As we are getting a lot of repeat sponsorship i'm sure we are going in the right direction.

| We need to look to the future-which is what the club is doing. We all want the club to be playing at the highest level in front of many thousands-even if we do not agree with the SL franchise bollox-we want to be there!
There are many different roads to get where we want- but often different ways to reach that goal with no wrong or right way. Yob has some valid points as does everybody. However we need to get behind the club whether the people be paid or volunteers it really does not matter if it means we achieve our aims.
I agree with Starbug that fax and other Championship teams really need to do more to get Fans in. What the answer is to the question " how do we get more fans attending"? is very complicated and nobody can say exactly this way will work. Different methods work but not always is there a definate one way to succeed. However the framework is there. How we as a club adapt is up to us. Some things that worked at Keighley for example will work others not.
Instead of falling out lets all get in to friends, family, workmates etc and INVITE them down to watch a game. When I was in Halifax for the Widnes game this year I took my 8 year old Nephew-he had never seen a RL game before and his mate. They both loved it and have now got him to nag his Mum and Dad to go and play at Siddal next year! How many of us have actually taken any family members down or the Neighbours Kids? Each one of us can play a part in bringing new fans to the club-it just miht cost us a little bit of effort though-but is that too much to ask?

Here's a challenge for you Mr YOB, get someone to do it better than me and I'll stand down.
Put up or shut up'"
Malcolm, if you are going to get personal, I can give as good as I get!
I'd say that you put in a lot of time and effort, but you're past your Sell By date and cause far too many problems, such as taking delivery and paying many thousands of pounds for shirts 3/4 of the way into the season, when the problem in them being delivered so late was down to the supplier.
Also, such as negotiating to take over sponsors sponsorships and seeking the Trust members permissions to do so, then going ahead without their approval, vus depriving the club of potential sponsorship monies/donations!
In my opinion a paid Part Time employee would do a better job, so long as the person was qualified in the area they are working. With the best will in the world, somebody is going to do a better job if their income depended on it, than somebody who can come and go whenever they want and with no financial motivation.
A volunteer can be very valuable, but have them doing the jobs they can handle.
As for me putting money in to replace you, that isn't going to happen! That's up to the board to build it into the budget!

With respect, that's easy to say when you only know half the story.
Quote Apart from that I think it is risible that he seems to believe that an employee is more committed to the job than a volunteer. An employee, generally speaking, is more likely to do what they are paid to do and no more whereas a volunteer, particularly in this situation, brings with it a passion for the work otherwise he/she would not volunteer. They are not getting any other remuneration than a sense of satisfaction in a job well done.'"

Do not think this is right and if you and Mal have a problem sort it away from here! This thread should be positive and maybe a bit more respect shown for people whether paid or not and also the work that everybody at the club has done. We need to move forward as a club not be held back by personal problems from the past. Onwards and Upwards Fax!!!!!

He gets treated like poop is what happens therby probably costing the club thousands in lost sponsorship money. But it's all good because the staff that forced him out are doing a "great"job.'"
Nobody forced me out GFB, except for the fact that I can't deal with egotistical idiots, but I could even cope with that for the benefit of the club.
The main reason I had to stand down was because I knew that the economy was going t!ts up and I would be needed more and more by my clients.

The club can't move forward until problems are sorted. Until then, it'll be held back by well meaning individuals who want to boost their own egos.

| Yob - I really think you are out of order in posting stuff like that about Malcolm. I wouldn't type anything that i'm not pepared to say direct to a person's face. It's all getting a tad childish. Like I said in my previous post - move off the personal stuff and stick to the topic. I admit to verbally abusing a lot of people but it's generally when they're sat in front of me - as you well know

The Problems do not need to be aired or sorted here in Public. This should be done elsewhere. I am not taking any sides here but just feel this Personal problem between you and Mal should be sorted away from the Public domain. What type of message does it send to new fans who look on here?
I think the thread is losing its way a little and should be pushed back on topic and how we all have a role to play to help the club grow. Some good ideas some ideas which will not work. But no wrong answers as the club and fans need to look at all options to help the Fax Brand grow in the local area.

Nothing personal, it's just that my eyes hurt and i'm a sensitive little soul. Anyway - all our problems will be solved in approximately two hours. The £37m Euro lottery is as good as in my pocket and i'm going to splash the cash down at The Shay.

| This thread is depressing -it's getting pathetic!
The club's going places - just look at the display against Cas a few weeks ago. We've got a great squad and a top class coaching team. Matt Calland's just committed to the club - which is fantastic news. The players are a great set of lads and I just wanted to give an example of what they do in the community.
Last Saturday I was asked by Illingworth RLFC if I could help out with their junior presentation night. They wanted a Halifax player to present the trophies and big Frank Watene gave up his Saturday evening at just a few hours notice and travelled over from his Castleford home to present the awards. The youngsters were thrilled to bits and all think Halifax are great. This is just an example of some of the positive things they do in the community.
Ben Black is kindly giving up his Saturday evening to present the trophies at Halifax Irish's presentation night tomorrow. He was only asked yesterday as well.
We've got two massive games coming up and if we win those then things really will be looking up.

There are faults in ANY system but its coming across that you and Mal have a big problem with each other. Sometimes its better to say things face to face or let things go rather than have a rant on a Public Forum where all can see.
I do not think many of us are interested in the problems you and Mal have with each other and I am sure that these could be discussed properly. I respect you and the work you have done with the club. I respect Mal and the work he does and know the club would be a lot poorer if you two have not got involved in the past. However to criticize the work of somebody here is in my opinion wrong. I also feel the way you criticized was not the right way neither. Thats not saying you are wrong with your opinions same as Mal and others are not wrong with their views. Its just the way its been done. I want to see this thread become more positive and looking at ways the club can move forward-not criticizing the work of people or the way they have done things. I am sure the club and many volunteers know they have made mistakes and lessons need to be learned. However we also need to look at areas that have not really been covered and how we can push the club forward. Any problems with the way things are/have been done should be reserved for Trust Meetings etc rather than on here.

You should have read the whole thread before making some of those comments. The slagging match was not started by me, I just joined in and rather childishly, retaliated!
I totally accept that people's loyalties on here would lay with the club, and don't hold that against anybody in any way, but to have all these comments directed at me makes me thinks some of you need to take your blinkers off!
