| Apart from the first set where we put the ball down early the completion rate was 100% better and as a result we had some good field position and pressure as reflected on the scoreboard.
Johnston made a difference and asked questions we haven’t been asking.
Good games by all across the park and a big team effort, the lads had to stand up and be counted today and they did.

| A very enjoyable afternoon at the Shay for a change. We were in control of the game from the off. Two of Leigh’s try’s cam from a ball squirting out and could not do much about that and a rather awful kick near their line. It should have been drilled on the ground. I think if those two incidents had not happened Leigh would have only had 6 points.
Everyone played their part today although I realy don’t think Kay adds much to us (sorry to Kay fans). It was a fantastic performance today up the fax

| Charlie is right about one thing - that Hutchison is very average for Leigh. I think something needed to change to get a result today, and Grady and Johnston coming back in made all the difference. JWH added some nice touches from fullback. Not biggest fan of Johnston but he has the X-factor that when it works, it works really well - certainly proved me wrong today. Let's hope we can take a similar performance to Toulouse. Win that and we're really back in the mix.

How dare you criticize Hutchinson, he's played 4 games in the NRL....he's quality !

| Wow what a great effort today I have to admit I did not see that coming, yes Leigh are out of sorts but we dominated them from first minute to last and gave them 2 tries.
Well done to RM for changing things around bringing in Johnno and switching Will Sharp and James Woodburn-Hall around, also having Grady back and the Cas lad didn't let us down.

| Excellent Team performance but not quite sure why Sharpe was on the wing after being our form player at Fullback didn't think Springer looked any better than some of our reserve Fwds just getting him fit for Cas

| I thought JWH at FB and WS on the wing worked Ok. Springer was a bit too keen, and contrary to my earlier thoughts needs some time with the team if he plays again with us. He's a big unit and could be awesome if he learns how to fit in.

I think Sharpy gave us some speed out wide which he is good at running at the line but better in attack like at Rochdale than from defence with Woodburn-Hall making a decent fullback so a good switch imo

| I’m think RM switched Sharp to wing as he is probably looking for more of a pivotal player at FB, like most teams have these days. Yes Sharpy runs the ball out strong but he can also do that from wing as he showed yesterday. However, he doesn’t have the best pass on him and some of the lines he runs from FB are quite predictable. We also need whoever plays FB to be more alert and backing up through the middle. At Rochdale the other week we made several busts only for there be no one in support. Royston would have had a field day

| i was raging at the fact RM moved sharp to the wing - completely took it back at the end of the game, thought it worked perfectly. Sharp still managed to make the yards up the middle and woodburn offers more of an attacking threat at FB than sharp does. quality switch and i hope he sticks with it.
Looks like a few weeks out of the team gave Jonno the rocket he needed - great game.
Grix needs to be at 13 as i said before the season started, how much better did our lines look with him down the middle rather than wasted out wide!
And i think some people need to take their 'I hate DR caps off'. Springer had a good game and earned us a couple of penalties whilst threatening the offload! i'd like to see him here for a longer spell.

| Woody played well at Fullback . Tactics spot on. Best I have seen us in a while. Kicking game good. Controlled the game. We look a different team with Grady in it . Looks like RM has found a winning formula .
Not taking anything away from Fax but Leigh look a shadow of the team from couple of years back. Why let Higson, Ridyard and Cory Paterson and others go have no idea. Those players got you promoted 2 years back and know the Championship.

Silly me, i'll try agree with your opinion next time rather than have my own.
i agree RE the comment around leigh lookiing a shadow of themselves - they seem to have brought in 'quality' individuals but they simply have NO fight for the shirt

| My thoughts on Sharp at fullback.
Strong points and where he normally stands out, usually safe under the high ball and shows strength in running the returns and his enthusiasm is infectious and gives the team and crowd a lift.
What I would like to see more of his him doing is coming into the line when attacking, most great fullbacks that you can think often have one eye on supporting and the offload and go through the gap but he'll certainly do for me either way.
Springer put in some good carries and some good hits and short term or not he was brought in to do a job on the day and he did it.
Whether it's him or another DR forward / player it's all about doing a job for the team on the day and it's up to the others such as Morris and Flemming to show they can do the job, so far, this season neither have done so, again in my opinion and they'll either rise to challenge or stay on the sidelines.

| It’s a long season and he needs to know who can do what, he’s pretty much there with his own lads, although pre season was hindered by a number of normal first teamers still carrying knocks from the middle 8’s but he’s not sure about the Cas contingent.
The inclusion of one DR for another DR (apple for apple) who has some SL experience doesn’t carry too much risk but tells him something as much about attitude as ability so it’s not tinkering for tinkering sake without any thought behind it.
It’s a long season and he needs to have a look at everyone who he has at his disposal.

| Given recent results, and I include the end of last season, yesterday has to be the most enjoyable day I've had at the Shay for some time. Congratulations to all involved, like others I thought RM had gone nuts with Sharpe on the wing, but I was proved wrong....lets hope we can keep this going.

| I did notice that Sharpe and Woody did change positions in second half. Not on RM's intructions according to post match interview but he said that was ok.Johno had a stormer and Grix in the middle worked much better. I would leave that triangle now and let it settle.
RM to make changes for Oldham game. More youngsters/ fringe players in methinks.Doubt we will see any Cas players as they would be cup tied then for Cas.Leigh looked devoid of confidence and I agree they have let some good Championship players and lads proud to wear the Leigh shirt go-and it showed yesterday. We just looked totally different to the side at Rochdale.Discipline and ball retention much better.

| I too thought moving Sharp was a daft move but bringing Jonno back along with Heaton gave us much more go forward. I think RM should resist any temptation to try changes for the cup game. Let's get a settled team and get on a roll. Yesterday was, in my view, a must win if we want to make the top four and the lads did the job brilliantly. Summat wasn't right about Leigh but who cares, that's their problem. It was just a shame we missed Charlie and Frank, it would have been nice to have a little gloat for a change! The Grove, shuddersfield. Hawkshead XPA 4.0% Mmm!

| The job Richard Marshall is doing is in my opinion underrated, JWH and Brandon Moore look ready to take the reigns of Muzza and Kaye, i expect to see them as our first choices as the season progresses.
RM being a forward who wasn’t the biggest, but was deinfitely smart, is really helping him build a good pack, and helping him spot a prospect. As we start to gel and get our full strength pack available I don’t see any side bullying us, we just need to find the right balance in attack. What an example Will Sharp sets to anyone starting in the game. It seems most of us have really taken to him after an indifferent start, he turned it round brilliantly.
It’s going to be really tough to make the top 4 this time round, but we only need one of the 4 to start faltering and we look like well be ready to take anything offered.
Well done all.
