"It's just that the above makes it sound like yesterday was in some way Halifax RLFC's achievement."
Allthough it was the RLWC under the stewardship of the RFL as Triran has stated what you saw on the day was backed up by a massive amount of work behind the scenes from HRLFC.
In fact if Halifac RLFC had not been playing at the Shay for the past few years the game would not have been staged there.
As such Halifax RLFC were very much a part of the work before hand, the occasion, the achievement by real actions and by association being based at the stadium.
Resulting in nothing but good for those involved, the game as a whole and the Town of Halifax.
It just makes your post and comments sound like yesterday was in no way Halifax RLFC achievement.
What is a fact, Town FC had nothing to do with yesterday so what has it got to do with you what goes on at a rugby game.
Why even bother to post if only to take a cheap shot at Fax again.
Blubba says that this type of thing doesn't exist and is paranoia but I knew sooner or later a brick would move and one would crawl out.
Quote "Still, you lot are no strangers to hypocrisy"
Your right every time a Town fan comes close we are right next to it with a capitol "H."
Still, don't cry about it.
We know how upset you already are because of being put in the shadows of rugby league again.
'"
Hilarious.
When have I denied that it was a good thing for the town? Read my posts and engage brain. My original post was pointing out that most Town fans have nothing but positive things to say about yesterday.
I'm not upset, I'm over the moon! The Shay was full yetserday proving what an asset it is to the community. Abbott's pie in the sky plans have been rejected which means we have saved both clubs from the massive risk of private ownership. You should be thanking us, espeically our supreme leader Bubba, as we may have just saved your club.
But instead you're upset because the man you had blind faith in and supported in the ultimate display of hypocrisy has failed in his bid to buy The Shay for practically nothing, mortgage it, set up a load of new businessses and cross his fingers. Safe in the knowlegde that if it all goes wrong he has a massive asset on his balance sheet.

Yes we know what you and Blubba think but don't presume to speak on behalf of "most Town fans" because I know plenty that want nothing to do with you.
It may be a good idea to read your own post which clearly stated HRLFC had nothing to do with yesterday.
ER wrong.
As hard as it may be to accept, any good that came to the Town was because of the existence of HRLFC which your sole aim was to discredit but failed miserably.
Yesterday simply proved that the Shay could bring benefits to the Town and has the potential to be an assett.
It also proved the rest of the time it fails to meet it's potential as it stands at the moment and it is a liabilty and not an assett at all.
The liabilty is being paid for by the entire population of Calderdale just so you and a small few can be over the moon.
Typical thoughts of the selfish, single minded extremist who talks about a community and then thinks of himself.
Which is backed up by calling Blubber our "supreme leader", you sound like one of the head banger zealots out of Iran.
How you can tell someone else to "engage" brain when you are subservient to a man, Blubba.
A man that bows before another man is a whimp with no brain.
I am completely unaffected by the goings on down at the Shay.
I neither support or oppose TA, you know why, because it will make no difference to the outcome, nor will your little show.
As stated before if the Council decide to sell they will do precisely that because they have a responsibilty for the entire community and not just one small section of it the "Blubberites."
Also. Turn on the TV and see what is going on outside your little football world like the Phillipines and then re evaluate what really matters and what we have to worry about, as if it's a piece of grass.
Now go and kiss your supreme leaders booty and see what he wants you to do next to please him.
You men pleasing crawlers make me want to throw up.

Ah you're going to get lauded for that post but to be honest it's just a big cry because you can't accept that the football supporters have saved your club.

Yes that's right.
This thread was started to acknowledge the council's decision to call off the potentially illegal and undervalued sale of an asset to the Town. As asset that costs less to run and has more potential than the library, theatre and swimming baths. A sale that would have threatened the future of the two clubs by placing unecessary risk on the stadium.
A great decision by the council following the actions of the football supporters. A decision which may have saved your club from extinction or, at least, losing their home.
In contrast you narrow-minded Abbot worshipers were blinded by nothing but love for the man and would happily sell your bodies to him if he spun the right words.
We don't expect a thank you but how can you hate your club so much?
I also look forward to Abbott's sponsorship of an FCHT game in the near future, now that the sale is off.

Hey Blubbas crawler has spoken again, the Town zealot who knows all about lauding his master.
Have you got permission to speak again.
Honesty. Everytime your lips move that goes out the window, you haven't even got the guts to stand behind what you say but run off like all whimps, so change your sermon Blubbas underling.
Crying, yes well you know all about that, you've been doing it ever since the Fax moved you out of the way down at the Shay.
The football supporters or Bubberites, too different groups.
The first give support to their team the second support their own self d right in their own eyes agenda.
How sad that is the only purpose in their lives, without a keyboard they would be nothing and with one they are still nothing.
I bet your mum had to apologised for giving birth to you, so go back home and say sorry for that.
While your at it, those hundreds of people that have missed out on the jobs that were to be created at the Shay do the same for them.
I'm sure they will thank you for saving them and there families.
Especially those that remain unemployed because some of them may not be able to pay their rent due to your really smart work.
The Shay is not just a piece of real estate for a few people to dictate to others about.
It involves people, some of them may have their lives deeply affected and ruined because of you and your actions.
Be over the moon about that and show what you are really all about and don't be "sush" about it let everyone know what you have done.

Sorry that just reads as one massive cry and whinge, Abbott lover.
The bits about apologising to people for not creating jobs, not paying their rent (bit rich), deeply affecting people's lives - it's all priceless.
TA and Halifax RLFC - the shining beacon of hope for the masses of unemployed cruelly stopped in their tracks by the evil FCHT fans.
Yes that's what this was all about. Not about the security of the club's, which I won't deny is the number one over-riding issue for Town fans and should be for any HRLFC fan who doesn't hate their club. Since when did FCHT or HRLFC have a duty to the unemployed? Why does TA need to own the stadium to create jobs ("Yeah I know - he wants to build an extension on his house"icon_wink.gif.
Your paranoid spouting of political nonsense only serves to prove why the FCHT fans were the only one's thinking straight and doing the right thing for the future of the two clubs.
Funny how quick you are to resort to (very poor) insults whilst chastising the football fans behaviour at every given opportunity.
Still, that goes back to the whole hypocrisy thing doesn't it?!!
Don't worry, the next time The Shay and YOUR club is in danger we will do what it takes to protect them, including marching on the town hall again if necessary. I promise you that 1000000000000000000%.

The seating and toilets are simply maintenance issues which cold easily be fixed and I'm sure the council will now have been alerted to this. It still appears that you want the Shay to be a venue which holds 20,000 and becomes a white elephant in the same way that Darlington has, and completely empty, similar to the fortune of [iStadium[/i MK. As thing stand we have two of the largest terraces in the country and a new stand which cost £6 million, a lot of which was from the council. The rest being from the football club. Not a penny was put into the ground by the rugby club, so if we're blaming anyone for the "state" that the ground is in then why not the Rugby?
You've never owned the ground in the same way that the football haven't, but it never stopped us putting money into it to make it what the club needed for the level it had ambitions to play in.

| Wheres the money coming from to fix these "Simple maintenance issues"? We are not just talking a couple of grand here. And there are other issues that need addressing properly not just hoping the cheapest option is good enough.
And once again you fail to see the benefits that TAs plans would have. 20,000 for example would be ideal to host representative games/Cup semi/semi finals. And under TAs plan the Stadium would be in use 7 days a week so it wouldne be a white elephant only in use once or twice a week. Many people would be using it to work in as well and use other facilities. I fail to see how that would make it a white elephant.

To fix the seats and add toilets? If you think that will be more than a few grand then you're being ripped off, even hypothetically speaking.
If neither club needs 20,000 what is the point? To allow the towns folk to all com out of the woodwork every time a world cup game comes to the Shay? Remind me what the crowd was for the Northern Rail Cup final was? It seems the ground was deemed good enough as t is for that game, really unsure as to what else you'd like to see? You clearly didn't hear Andrew Voss yesterday saying that the town and its clubs could be proud of the magnificent stadium that they had.
Tony Abbott, if he so desires, would have no football opposition if he were to use the South-East annex for Reactiv Offices, that would get the ground in use and allow the extra jobs which he wants to create. Everyone is a winner.

Oh really. 3% that's your argument? I wonder if that was the argument you were lobbying the council with 7 years ago when you were marching on the Town Hall trying to stop them selling The Shay.
You must really hate your club.
It doesn't hold water anyway. What exactly are you basing that on? The average weekly attendances of the two clubs? What about the bigger crowds that turn up for the bigger games? What about the functions at The Shay? What about the 5-a-side pitch, the kids who play tournaments and finals on the pitch? The Staff at The Shay, both employed by the two clubs and the council? All people who have an interest in some form.
How many are regulars are there or those who might only use it once a year, for example?
Now how does this compare to the library, for example, which cost 8x as much to run? How many people use that regularly or in any capacity at all? What potential does it have, especially in today's digital age?
What about the swimming baths? Or theatre?
It's nothing but a lame attempt to try to explain how the 'future' lies in the hands of your god and saviour; the deceitful spin doctor. Let him get it on the cheap, mortgage it, set up a bunch of businesses and cross our fingers. If it all goes wrong then the club's are fecked but TA has a massive asset to fall back on. Brilliant.
But you don't need to worry because FCHT fans will always do what's best for the stadium and therefore your club.

I would class atleast once a month as regular. The Calderdale population is just over 200,000.
3% of 200,000 = 6,000. I very much doubt 6,000 people who live in Calderdale have been to the Shay since january 1st except for maybe yesterday. Even for people who do follow Fax/Town, many dont live in Calderdale. I know a number of Fax fans that live in Kirklees, Bradford/Keighley, Leeds, Lancashire/Manchester etc. I very much doubt that more than a couple of hundred people who live in Calderdale have played at the 5 a side in 2013. And its highly unlikely thousand of locals have been to The Shay for a function in the past couple of months. And what amateur finals have been played at The Shay in 2013?
Quote :3mtyeqahNow how does this compare to the library, for example, which cost 8x as much to run? How many people use that regularly or in any capacity at all? What potential does it have, especially in today's digital age? '" :3mtyeqah
The library is used by schools tohelp them learn to read and it also holds local public archives. Also the internet as well as other facilities are available at the library. It serves a far wider part of the community than what you may think. The library also hosts many help and support groups. But luddites like yourself ignore this.
What about the swimming baths?
Your blind selfishness helps you to ignore the important role that swimming baths have. Many Schools get kids their and help them learn to swim. Something that may save their lives one day. How can you put a price on that? The Swimming baths are more than just a swimming pool but offer other sporting facilities and are again used by many people from Schools to elderly groups to pregnancy groups. But just ignore the important role they play as clearly Halifax Town are far more important!
Quote :3mtyeqahOr theatre?'" :3mtyeqah
The Theatre has hosted many events and caters for people from all backgrounds. From Music concerts to comedians to pantomimes. The theatre offers many things to the local population and its typical of luddites to fail to see what the Victoria Theatre offers.
Quote :3mtyeqahIt's nothing but a lame attempt to try to explain how the 'future' lies in the hands of your god and saviour; the deceitful spin doctor.
'"
As usual you luddites like to think you know everything even what Fax fans think. I dont know of one Fax fan who has said that TA should take over The Shay without certain conditions being met. Many like myself would have liked a bit more info. Its clear the shay under the Council will get along with the bare minimum invested. The Shay already has a very old stand which is falling quickly into mess. 2 stands have capacity reduced. The Shay needs outside investment for it to be a modern stadium and have modern facilities so that far more people as currently to use it for far more different reasons. Its only the short sighted and blind luddites that fail to see this. Town fans will never do whats best for the Stadium only for their small backwards thoughts and are happy to live in the past in a fast decaying stadium.

| The football club put money into the three new stands, the rugby didn't. The rugby also owe £52,000 in rent. That contribution would help with maintenance and put the capacity of the Skircoat and North Stand up immediately.

This from a blind supporter of the one man spin machine that is Tony Abbott.
Still, you lot are no strangers to hypocrisy.'"
Absolute child read my WORDS I do not worship Tony Abbott he is a businessman who has a plan for developing the Shay but as I have said before this we can only believe if he produces the goods as in he passes all the necessary due diligence if the Council go down that road which they may be forced to yet as the local population who pay Council tax may have a say as it is losing money FACT.
