Remember his dad Gary playing and he was quality. Hope Ross can follow in his footsteps. Must say that we look to have a very strong Pack and there will be competition for places next year unlike this year. At the moment I can see it being a 2 horse race between us and Fev next year. Batley and Sheffield will be the next challenges who will want to upset us both and have the potential. The only downside for Sheffield and Batley could be the size of the squad and the Quality in it. Then its daylight to the rest as cant see Hunselt, York, Leigh, Swinton, Keighley etc matching the top 4 over the season.

Top bloke is Ross, he's suffered a bit by being thrown in as a sub prop (which he isn't) due to our injuries. If we hadn't had the injuries i'm not sure how much game time he would have got because he was always behind Spears, Grayshon and Dale for the 2nd row slot. Personally i see him as either 2nd row or loose forward and i'm pretty sure Hepworth is ear marked for the LF role next year for us so he maybe thought he'll get more regular game time going to Fax. Hope he goes well for you. Except against us of course, and he cetainly leaves with my best wishes.

Didnt Gary come to us from Leeds, tall ball playing forward, i think us and leeds did quite a bit of business in them days, if he does half as well as his dad did, well have a good un.

Yes he did, originally at Hull FC signed for Fax from Leeds at the same time as John Bentley in a dual deal reportedly of £100,000.
I can't remember who we were playing but they were both introduced as new signings at half time in a game at Thrum Hall.

Ross is a tremendous signing, very highly rated at York and Fev with lots of experience with youth on his side to get even better.

Would be great to see Gary down at the Shay on match days.

No as a previous poster put, we signed Divorty and Bentley in a joint swoop and were paraded at Thrum Hall. I think it will have been another infamous dash with a carrier bag of cash that Mr Gartland used to send John Burnett off with. He always had cash in his boot when we were chasing players and in those days cold hard cash was hard to refuse!!!

I remember Divorty coming on the pitch at half time with John Bentley both signed from Leeds at the same time.

Gary Divorty was a classy ball playing loose forward who was a crowd favourite, so as already posted it will be great to call that name once again. Ross appears much broader than his father but is still capable of playing loose. Not sure what he mostly played at Fev, think he benched a bit coming on as backrow/prop. Quality signing as he was for Fev. Think they picked him up from Doncaster and he was their stand out player when we went over their a few years back and won easily with their gobby chairman slagging us off.

I was due to see mine last week but I wasn't feeling too well so put it off for a few days.

I remember we played against York a few years ago (can`t remember what occasion must have been cup game or something) and Ross was playing for them .I had a word with Gary he was there watching , he doesn`t look a lot differant to be honest.
