Morning gents, it looks like we (Leigh) will be bringing 600-1000 over on Sunday.
A kind gent as posted admission prices so I doubt if many will be heading to the new bit at £18 and the majority will head to the shared standing section at £15, could this be a potential problem? ie people wanting to stand central, chav element etc

Is there any chance the away end could be open again, limited as last time?

No probs, get in early and stand centrally is the solution then

I'm 1 of many family south stand season ticket holders, and I for one hope that they do open the North stand, why not close all or most of skircoat stand and use stewards on North stand, it is a smaller stand?

I think RL fans are the most friendly bunch there is, but if they do bring 1000 fans then craming all of us into the south stand will not create the family atmosphere the RL wish t portray, I know many families/seniors would feel intimidated standing amongst them and with the potential for trouble surely it makes sense to open North stand.
I went to the Cougars/Leigh game and they outnumbered the cougar fans, so that was 500+, and now they've actually won some games that figure will surely increase.
Its the opening of the new stand and I would feel that there would be a few fax fans that have not been for a while or even for 1st time and if both ends were open this would make for a better spectacle/atmosphere, fax should think long term and not make this an occasion to save money.

No way will you bring a 1000 maureen, 600 is about right.

Think you are right there VM 1,000 is a bit optimistic, but i think we could take between 600 and 800.

I really hope your right. Would be far better for all concerned if the Leigh fans are given their own stand. Better atmosphere too.

Leigh should definitely get their own end, as should Widnes when they come, it adds to the atmosphere and makes it far more tolerable for home and away fans.

Message to the club :- Dont go penny pinching on us, putting idiots together from 2 clubs benefits nobody. During big games like Widnes and Leigh its no way near a family friendly environment.

Going to be a bit of a squeeze if we're all stuck in the South Stand, can't believe for a second that 'Fax expect the Leythers to pay £18 to go in the East...or I hope not, anyway!

Think 600 or so is a fair estimate of what we will bring, and I've no idea how we're all going to get in the South on the evidence of my visit to the Sheffield game.

think if remeber rightly the south stand was supposed to have 4000 capacity when first built. but was reduced later to 3,500 and may have been reduced bit more since. but still holds plenty.

A fair amount of the end section nearest to the 'tunnel' was taped off at the Sheffield game, so I'm sure that would probably knock a few hundred off the capacity as well if it's still the case?

Doesn't help the atmosphere either when the two fans are mixed together to the extent that they have been on our last few visits to your place.

There may well be valid reasons why the North Stand is unavailable, not just financial ones.

you could all go sit in the skircoat stand as im sure alot of the fax fans will be sitting in the new stand as we have waited 10 years for it

They can open the North, its just logistics, We go down this road every year.
South Stand is 3211, North 1020, Skircoat 2330, East 3500 (Figures from Shaymen Website)
I think the North Stand problem is facilities, toilets etc, refreshments. Im sure because it doesnt have the tunnel exits, if its provided with adequate ameneties it can hold more than the south Stand, 3500 if im not mistaken.
Not sure why part of the south Stand is cordoned off, H&S probably or maybe they dont want people sneaking into the East Stand, maybe its just been left since there was a building site and away players running on, i dont know, seems silly though.
Maybe its a test for EMC, can they provide beer and burgers to Leythers at the other end of the ground


One other thing to consider is, how many stewards will be required in the East Stand, i would imagine it could test our stewarding resources to the max, and im not sure if enough will have been inducted, theres only so many care in the community about too

south stand end was taped off after an incident at a town game when there was nearly a scuffle between fans and players who had to walk past there to the temporary changing rooms.now new changing rooms are ready it should be removed ?

As for the taped off area, indeed it was an incident at a footy game and was cordened off as thats where the away players went after the game, i presume it will now be removed.

Better get editing that franchise application then

rest of ground holds over 9000 so can see north only open when really needed.

looks like a good game this sunday so 3 of us making the trip over.

Depends on whether the HBOS car park is open, (Hunger Hill). They were charging £2 when it was open, and it's secure. You'll be best contacting the club about that. There is also the B&M car park, not sure of the price, bottom side of the Shay. Not heard good things about it, tbh. There's Huddersfield Rd., or plenty of parking spaces in the town centre - only 5 mins walk to the ground.
