No we wouldn't. We've not got the brains to play the way Barrow did second half. We'd have just kept the ball alive up the middle until we dropped it. I'm affraid I'm feeling very negative after watching that tonight. We've made a total mess of our oportunity this year. WE ARE the best team by a country mile and we've no form going into the play offs.

In the last three seasons only three clubs have managed to emulate the same achievement. Those clubs are Widnes, Salford and now Sheffield.

So what was that all about ?

Losing a few games cost us top spot, we can't afford to lose another game this season now. We've had our bad run of results, it's someone else's turn now & I couldn't give a monkey's about performances, let's just win each game we play.


Barra strangled the life out of Sheffield for 90% of the second half and Rooney's kicking was their main attacking weapon.

If the bonus point stays, it should be dropped down to 6 points.

Tonight is the reason why Barrow WILL NOT win the grand final. A losers mentaility, that's probably why they lost the NRC Final ... "Oh we've got to the final, that's ok". Maybe soemone ought to tell them that they've won NOWT by coming top, and they won't be getting their six fingered hands on any silverware marra. Even the most hardened Barrow fan must feel totally ashamed and embarrased at their team going for penalty kicks and drop goals when they were losing. We have nothing to fear ... BRING IT ON!

Im not a great fan of the bonus point but we have blown it ourselves. Barrow deserve to be top and we would have played for the bonus point tonight if it meant getting top spot. Well done to them. We just need to focus on winning on Saturday and then going up there and giving them a right good Yorkshire hiding

And before Barrow and Sheffield fans say its 'sour grapes' cos they are above us (Sheffield at the mo only) its the way it makes teams just get some points on the board rather than trying to win the game.

Tonight was a prime example, okay Barrow were playing for the 'league leaders trophy' but come on surely they should be wanting to win the game rather than lose it by less than 12 points just to get a bonus point???

also Sheffield will finish above 2 teams who have won more and lost less than them, not even drawn a game either.

We got back to 22-22. Hardly playing for a bonus point ! Clarky, O'Connor and Bill Arthur gave the Barrow club hardly any credit for winning the league in our first season after promotion. Imagine the superlatives that would have been bleated had Gateshead been in our position tonight.

I agree that the bonus point should be looked at, but without it, the chances are we'd still be top anyway.

The Don Valley is a postage stamp of a pitch which doesn't suit our open play, it was heaving down, blowing a gale and we only played on Monday night. Sheffield's only weapon was big blokes barging over from 5 yards. Hard to defend against, but not very inspiring either.
