The results today show how close this league is gonna be this year and Leigh by the looks of it are not unbeatable.

Well don Fax. Could and should've been 4/4. The season however is alive and kicking!

The worry for me is that in every game now in the last 15 minutes we have looked tired and the opponents have been scoring more than a point a minute. Have the players been doing much fitness and conditioning in the Pre Season?

Well we have won at last against last years Champions with all their big guns playing.
Our ability to try snatch defeat from the jaws of victory needs some work on both re fitness and learning how to close agame down. However, I will take 5th in the league having played some tough sides early on.
1300 gate was poor though. Won't help us to pay for new players-loan or otherwise I'm afraid- to help improve the team.
Get on a wiinning roll now hopefully and start to attract a few casual spectators back.

Played really well in parts, kicking game and line defence apart, and really good entertainment as well. Just the boost to kick on and get on a roll now. Got to say though, ginger had his usual hopeless display. Anyway as wife said spring has sprung and let's hope Fax are on their way!

Fax lost their way when Murrell was substituted. His organization and kicking game were 1st class today.

Enjoyed that . Entertaining game . Some good tries and just more passion. But for the fourth time in a row I will mention again about conceding late tries. It's got to be about fitness ; we just cannot play for the entire 80 mins but hey ,let's enjoy a bit of good stuff coming out of the Shay for once.

Heart attack job. Need to sort out that last section of the game. Could have denied Sheffield a bonus point but lso could have lost!! All in the space if ten minutes!!

Much more entertaining today. Looked organised and they looked like scoring, unlike against Batley last week.

Strange I thought Murrell had one of his poorer games for us today kicking wise but was all over them in defence.

Good performance though and showed what we can do. Looked a bit nervous at the end but Sheffield are probably still the team to beat in this division and certainly are the best attacking side so I thought we handled them quite well.

Some big performances today and we looked good with players in their correct positions. Fieldhouse had a good game coming back in and Manning filled in brilliantly at centre. Ste Tyrer looked real class today and was a treat to watch. Ive no idea why Fev want rid of Saxton but their loss is our gain and I would have him over at least one of their wingers. Johnston again looked a different player this week. The lad has quality about him and just needs to back himself like he did today and caused Sheffield problems all afternoon. Thought the pack went really well with Robinson another with a point to prove having a good game also worth mentioning Ben Davies who I thought had his best game for us.

The pressure was on today but the players stepped up which was good to see. If the group of players stuck together I could see us been pretty good in a couple of years although I feel we might just fall short of the top 2 we would be a good bet for the grand final.

I'd like to say a massive well done to all our players today. They ran their legs to water and tackled themselves into the ground. True, their stamina waned in the last 15, but no-one can deny their will to win. Watching Andy Bracek stood on the sideline, it was all he could do not to run on and drag someone off to take their place, he was that eager to get into the fray and help out his team mates.

I thought our pack were outstanding today! But, IMO, the ball distribution could be quicker. Do we still make marker tackles? That has been lacking since David Wrench retired. He was the best exponent of that I've seen in a Fax shirt.

All in all, I'm feeling good after today's result.

Agree with all of the above! Had the Eagles scored off that last play (albeit he was at least 10 metres offside), then I'm sure we'd all feel very different!

The game against Leigh coming up is massive - if we can win that one, then the whole competition will become very exciting.

I thought we looked very good with the ball, running on to the ball, looking for offloads (need to work on the backing up), but let in a couple of soft tries and (again) dropped off in the last quarter of the game (albeit we did score one in that period to win it!).

Overall, a happy Fax fan today!

One in particular when Tonka broke through ball in his left hand, looking for an offload, no one there, perhaps Karl remembers Sam's silly offload at Batley last year.

So do I, it's strange last week after our loss, three people started three different threads within 15 minuets of the final whistle, none of them has started a thread today.

What a great player he is, I remember a night at the Shay when we were told we had signed a new player, every one had their opinion as to who it was, some silly predictions, and at the end of the evening some one said "Andy Bracek?"
Who is he, well he is someone who can do 70 minutes in each game.
Am I alone in thinking Ross Divorty could do with a little more game time?

Just perfect, had a few quid on Sheffield +4 and Halifax win as well.

Feel bad that I haven't been to a game yet but I'm currently out of the country. Looking forward to getting back and taking a seat in the East Stand.

Much better performance in attack today, amazing what a few line breaks such as from Tommy Saxton can do to get us going forward, we have missed that aspect to our game.

Some real determination from our pack and we did dominate a good Eagles side for most of the game.

Things to work on, goal line defence was slack for a couple of their scores, last ten minutes we almost through it away again but we ended up with Potts and Brown defending the right side against Menzie and co when Murrell and Heaton limped off and it showed.

A big effort from the lads today who showed how much it means to them and they deserve our support on that showing.

They do, and hopefully a few more in attendance in a couple of weeks.

You're right there. In my opinion, the better team lost.

We were making our first appearance in our snazzy blue and white away kit, which bore more than a passing resemblance to a 'Fax kit. Unfortunately we chose to look like 'Fax - and play like them!!



As an aside, we struggled all game to cope with Keighley's half backs - Paul Handforth and Danny Jones - remember them?

Lets hope so.

Batley, Barrow, Dewsbury and Keighley crowds today all increased on last year's corresponding games. No comparison for Fev and Swinton so only Fax showed a decrease.

Well done to the lads for grinding the result out. Our defending in our own 20 is letting us down currently which is the biggest surprise. Glad to see us throw it about a bit more..... Good win in a pressure cooker atmosphere. Only way is up
