No nice pubs near the ground the best of a bad lot was the 3 pigeons.
Massive queues at every bar that didn't even go down when the game was on tipical 30 minutes from back to front.
Running out of beer after only 20 minutes into the Grand final. Either the Keighley fans had drunk 50 pints each or the person that runs the bar didn't know there was an event going on that weekend.

I posted a Halliwell Joke topic on the Wire board, there fans are not happy either, suggested i write to someone about, its already penned, customer care was zilch yesterday, bad business all round, poor day, penned into one section with no leg room and no food or drink was pathetic, they dont deserve to host it next year, its not the first time either, the RFL dont seem to care.

Agreed, was a crap venue, no way should it be held there again.

Plus would it be big enough, the Super League Final can attract around 70000 as it is, nearly 12000 people went to the HJ at some point on Sunday

Ground was fine, but the grass needed cutting.

Arrived at 3:30pm, and parked within 50 yards of the stadium (side road - we were lucky!).

Catering was rubbish - brought our own food and drink (no problems with the stewards over plastic bottles - unlike Leigh). Just wanted to buy a coffee, but didn't bother when I saw the queue!!

Enjoyable day out apart from the result!!

i was furoius when i got to the ground, the parking was a joke, i saw no signs at all, i arrived an hours and thirty before the game, i asked many people in high vis jackets who all knew nothing, clueless

there were weel clamp men laughing at motorists in Tescos.

i was infuriated, it took me a good 45 mins to find a secure parking place

Just on parking alone games should not be held there again a farce, complete joke

However must say the internals of the groud were good, the pitch however looked over wattered and grass too long, obviosly set up for 3 games in one day!

Who were the family in the west stand who brought their travel suitcases and just dumped them on the terraces, amount of people that fell over them lol, looked like they had just come back from their jollies.

One reason. Heathcotes who run the stadium outlets, have no more games for a while, so they did not want a lot of persihables left over as they would lose money. So basically they care not about the consumer but only about themselves. They will still have made a killing even knowing they would run out early. I'm all right jack and all that.

Thw wife managed a full episode of Eastenders on the TV by the beer queue!

There was a stall selling beer out of cans in West Stand but we finished them off before most Fax fans had arrived.



After they stopped serving most Cougars fans just left for the pubs at half time.

The whole thing was a disgrace and Warrington should never host finals or international again, it isn't equipped for it.

I think the ground is okay, at least it still has standing.
What let it down was the lack of control for the matchday traffic and the catering.
Headingley would be better I agree but would certainly not want to share SL Grand Final day with the Sooper Dooper league fans, no thankyou!

It makes me think how good the Shay is going to be with the East Stand as provided the catering is looked at (the Leigh lads we stood near on Sunday say the firm who do the LSV are not very good and they will be doing the Shay) and lessons learned by them and CMBC it will be terrific as near the Shay are 3 good pubs (Shears, Pump Rooms and Three Pigeons) plus The Shay (hotel) for those who just want a pint!
Add to that the South Stand Lounge plus I believe a new bar in the East Stand.
It is also near town.

I thought the pitch was a mess quite honestly as several players had trouble staying on their feet.

You could hope next season they play it at Leigh Sports Village.

We Leythers won,t mind you Yorkies drinking the place dry of Carling.

Didn't anyone at the catering firm think to nip over to tesco to buy some more beer, they would have still achieved over 100% mark up selling cans at £3 a pop

Son went could not park either,had to park in the town.If Leigh get automatic promotion it should be held there as car parking is 1st class and the stadium will need the cash.

Not sure if the RL look at public house proximity when choosing a venue.I don't know why people have to get themselves full of beer before a game but if you must then there are plenty of decent pubs 10/15 minutes walk away in the town centre if you can be d walking that far.I saw quite a few fans outside the Barley Mow and Wetherspoons.

We had RFL approved disabled pass ended up parked in a dead end in the car park behind two other cars at end of Martin Dawes stand.Walking round to West stand passed the stadium ticket office and there were 4 disabled bays with cones in front and stewards stood by them.RFL said there were 30 disabled spaces,our pass was number 22 yet all the spaces except these 4 were full 10 mins into the Keighley game.Info from RFL said bars would be closed 30 mins before full time of our game,they had been open all day for two games with smaller crowds yet the game with the biggest crowd sees the bar shut early.Couldn't organise a p*** up.Don't know that Headingley would be any better, friends went the year Cas played and there were problems getting in and out with lots of people crammed into small area behind stand and lots of pushing and shoving.

It's a final, a reason to celebrate (whatever the eventual outcome) and social occasion.

The food had run out before the Keighley game ended and everything else ran out thereafter. An absolute disgrace for the "family sport" to get families there and then not cater for them.

Won't happen at Old Trafford next week - hell it doesn't even happen at the Shay.

Finals should be at Headingly.

Or why not take all three leagues Grand Finals to wembley in one huge day out?
