| The southstand bar seems to have gone upmarket, only the very very rich can afford a pint of beer now.

| Only the very rich can afford to pay £15-£18 to watch part-time RL.
Take a SKY game for example
scenario a- £18 in + beer
or b - £0 + cheaper beer + better view of action. Place admission fee on a bet on the game, bet wins, night paid for, if it loses, well, its what the night would have cost if you went to the game anyway!
Harsh reality when money is tight!

| I too think £18/£13 to watch Second tier RL is absolutely scandalous.

| £4.50 for a pint and half of carlsberg......... shocking prices ( like the LSV), prices like this just encourages fans to drink in the pubs instead and go to the ground at the last minute ( this happens at the LSV now).

| £4.50!! Bloody Hell. Can't the rugby club do anything about this?
This just takes the , typical council bulls**t.
Burger van man not too happy neither in skircoat today, raise his prices or hes out, sell cheap and hes out.
Time for a sticky EMC out or lower prices.
£18in, £4.50 a pint, is this a joke?
With fax on the field form, and now this, expect 3 figure crowds within the year,
the powers that be, sort it.

Exactly what we did last season at LSV, nice bar near ground, some sort of leisure centre type bar? And now we'll be doing the same for home games, 3 pigs and pump room have nicer pints and are both nicer than the south stand bar anyway!

What do you suppose the Halifax RLFC can do about this ????
We all knew it was going to happen, the best way is to keep your money in your pockets and don't give it to them....

| As it works like a franchise (I Presume) the catering company have to cover the costs of what they paid to buy the franchise which will have been tens of thousands before even thinking about making a profit, if thats how this has been set up, which is why they charge silly prices.

No that's NOT how it's set up.
The bar takings/profit are the Councils.
The pricing structure and stock etc have been decided by the Council, with consultation from EMC. All staff are Council employees. EMC do not get anything.

| Even the catering van behind the south stand has put up prices. I believe they had no choice in this and have been isntrcuted to do so. E.g. a cup of coffee up from 90p to £1.60!!

| It's an odd situation I agree.
Basil Hosseini (?) has "worked" for EMC for a while. Was stadium manager at Keepmoat in Donny when it opened. I'm almost sure he said he was paid by Council (though stand to be corrected on that one).
Think all the food / drink is provided through EMC's supply chain so I suspect that is where EMC benefit.

| Spoken to bar staff in South Stand bar on two occasions and got different stories each time about prices.1st time told prices not going up,2nd time told prices going up but not as much as in East Stand.Prices went up 50p in one week for pint of bitter and up 40p for glass of lemonade.Town supporters were told that they probably wouldn't be getting Newcastle Brown in because the brewery/company that EMC deal with don't sell it and the cheapest they could buy Newcie Brown at was £1-70 a bottle and they couldn't sell it for more than £2-30.Obviously 60p profit per bottle is not good enough. We went into bar yesterday after our 1st pint the bitter went off and they couldn't get another barrel on,tried the lager which was flat as was the lemonade.Won't be going in there again until they see sense and get staff who can do the job and charge prices which are not extortionate. Was surprised to see bar was full at half-time so as long as people keep going in then EMC will continue with their prices.

| I was shocked to see no Newcastle Brown, too. Sacrilege!
I paid £3.90 for a pint of lively Tetleys (it took nigh on 10 mins to settle) and a half of coke. Hip flask next week, methinks.
