Quote Applications for the newly re-vamped Championships have been going well, a source at the RFL has confirmed to Code13, with four clubs from outside the current competition lodging bids.
Crucially, one of those four applications is from a club in Wales, Code13 can confirm.
However, although the RFL will not specify which region of Wales the application has come from, it is understand not to be from the capital Cardiff, nor is it from North East Wales nor West Glamorgan, where the Crusaders and South Wales Scorpions respectively are based.
Hemel Stags have also been reported recently as being another club looking to climb the semi-professional pyramid, showing that the RFL’s development work away from the heartland of the game is beginning to bear fruit. '"
