| Inbetweeners is a brilliant film, not sure I've ever laughed like that during a film before.
Ending is a little bit cheesy though, but still a cracking film!

| Plastic Man was a comedy character in his best incarnation.
I could always ask a Marvel Zombie to defend 'Forbush Man'.

There are many indefencible Marvel abominations (Secret Wars I & II for example).

| Quote ="West Cumbrian Rhino"The Inbetweeners movie is superb!
It's every bit as funny as the TV show and then some. The whole audience was in stitches and you could sense everyone cringeing at some parts of it. Although it stays true to the TV show (with some cracking throwback references to it) it actually has quite a bit of heart to it, and is decent as a stand alone story. A fitting climax to the Inbetweeners, farewell Neil, Jay, Simon and Will!
I can't recommend it highly enough though, I will be going again before long I reckon!'"
Excellent film indeed. The only film I've laughed anywhere near that level at 1st watch was Borat. Absolutely hilarious at times and I don't want to spoil it too much for others, but the dance scene is one of the funniest scenes I've ever seen. They all have their moments and it's a truly memorable film that will be watched again by me at some point with a DVD purchase too.

| [iBrighton Rock [/i - Stylish film which moves between evil and innocence. It carries plenty of menace and tension and does it well. Very good performances by Riley and Riseborough.
[iSucker Punch [/i - Scantily clad hot chicks kicking ass is the most apt way to describe it. Ultimately its a mess but enjoyable all the same.
[iSubmarine[/i - An excellent quirky coming of age comedy. Promising debut from director Richard Ayoade. I would like to watch this again.

| Very impressed with The Inbetweeners Movie. It was a bit predictable in places but I thought it was written very well. Cheesy but brilliant montage at the end as well.

| Watched True Grit today. Thought the performance of the young girl was superb, if Matt Damon's wasn't. But I enjoyed it, a moving film that always had that air of class about it.

Have to say this was one of the worst films I've seen in a very long time. There are cheap, exploititive films out there, but that's what they are setting out to be and I have no problem with that, but this was "supposed" to be something meaningful. So here we've got a young, childlike woman, abused by her stepfather and placed in a mental home, having a fantasy about being in a whorehouse having a fantasy about being dressed up as a Japanese porn star killing CGI nonsense to "escape" before she's lobotomised.
Absolute garbage. The only way it could be worse would be if it had Julia Roberts and Richarde Gere in it.

| The Founding of a Republic
Touted as the first film featuring Jackie Chan, Jet Li and Donnie Yen all together I was intrigued and took a punt on DVD. I feel duped, I expected some sort of spectacular martial arts film, it wasn't. It turns out to be a Chinese government propaganda film to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Mao winning the Chinese civil war. Chan, Li and Yen are barely in the film for 5 minutes combined, reduced to mere cameo roles which you barely notice. What you end up with is a film that lacks the artistic impression of some of the really great Chinese films like Hero or the grittiness that's associated most modern war films, which leaves it pretty bland. Avoid.

| I have to say my favourite Jackie Chan films are probably [iDrunken Master[/i and [iThe Legend Of Drunken Master[/i. Both are hilarious with brilliant fight sequences. Also I can recommend [iThe Blade[/i as well. It's a great, dreamy type of martial arts flick with a suitably jaw dropping climax.
Also, to honour Lancashire's incredible achievement I've taken a look at [url=http://cinematicsoul.wordpress.com/2011/09/16/cricket-on-film/#more-303Cricket in film[/url and my five favourite cricket films.

Very fair review, but would have to disagree about the running time. 2 hours was perfect imo, any longer and the audience would proberley have become a bit restless. I never saw the original series, but the acting in the film, was 1st class. Can see it winning plenty of Baftas, but not Oscars, ( not exactly American).
Nice comparison with The Lives Of Others, which imo, is the best German film since Das Boot.

I can see that aye. If I hadn't seen the series I'm sure I would have had a different response.
