Anyone come across a band from Warrington called The Ruffneck Riot ? I went to watch Merry Hell in Liverpool the other week and the Ruffneck Riot came on after them. I thought they were brilliant. Definite Pogues / Clash influences, an exciting live act. Girls on Accordian and banjo, lead singer on mandolin along with usual bass, guitar and drum. Fantastic racket they made. I enjoyed them more than anything I have seen in ages, and it was a free gig !

Roughneck Riot? Excellent band from what I've heard recorded, they've been around for a good few years now but I've still not got round to seeing them. Folk punk is generating a lot of good bands at the moment - look up Smokey Bas tard for even better, similar sounds.

I will have a nose at them , cheers.

Just caught The Skints on 6 music. Sound good , Might have to check out some more of them.

They've two other albums, and you can hear them progressing over the five years or so since the first one. They've pretty much cracked the reggae thing, and have left anything other than a trace or ska, punk or skapunk behind.

Yesterday we buried a good friend. Whilst at the funeral I found out his daughter had just signed a recording contract, and will be supporting her heroes Random Hand at this years Norwich Punk Picnic.


Sophie Porter, your dad would be so proud of you.
