I'm thinking of getting the Desire HD. Had a Hero and loved it until it's untimely death last month. Is the Desire HD worth getting? Should I hang fire for any new models due out soon?

The Nexus S? Been out a few weeks has the latest version of Android called Gingerbread, you thinking of the Galaxy S?

No i was thinking if HTC are going to release a new handset? I'm not a big fan of the Galaxy. Looks like it's trying too hard to be an Iphone to me. Given the great experience I had with my Hero I'm almost certainly going to stick with HTC.

Ah right, the Desire HD only hit the shops in December, there will be more in the pipeline but there always will be.

Yeah I just don't want to be buying at the end of a cycle!

Ordered my Desire HD today. Interesting phone call as it turned out.

Started off with me asking for the upgrades section where I was quoted £199.99 + £25 a month on a 24 month contract. Somewhat different to my previously agreed tariff when I rang a month ago. I couldn't get the deal I was offered last month apparently as it had expired. After politely telling the woman on the end of the phone that the offer I was made last month was to be available from the 1st of this month and that if I didn't get that particular deal I would be cancelling my contract I was quite incredibly put through to a nice Welsh gentleman at retentions. He somehow managed to not only give me the contract I wanted on an 18 month tariff but give me an extra 100 minutes a month. Truly incredible!

My son has the choice of 2 phones and he can't decide so any experience of either would be gratefully received:

Sony Ericsson X10 Pro Mini or the HTC Wildfire.

I've decided on Free Desire HD phone for 24 month with 300 mins, 3000 text and 500mb for £30.

Or 100 mins, 500 txts (more than enough) 500mb for £25

Moving from 02 to Vodafone

We have the Desire and it's a fantastic phone, the HD is meant to be far superior so you have one cracking phone on it's way to you!!

But nowhere near enough value for your money.

My 3G signal on o2 seems to have disappeared this week

It might not be 02's problem, last November my 3g went on my iphone (im with TMoblile) and our 3g broadband went too (we are with 3 for that) turns out 3 (who look after all 3g signal in the UK) had a damaged local reciever which affected the postcode, it did take 6 weeks for it to return mind

I've never had much of a problem with Vodafones 3g access in the North West.

Apart from Brizzol, it's crap in the South West. Emma can have no 3g signal on her iPhone, while I've usually got a perfect signal on my N8 (T-Mobile)

I get NO phone signal in the house anywhere with O2.
