I have the Sony Ericsson "Elm", it's quite a basic phone really, very light with some apps on it (which I haven't learnt how to use) and has a good camera too. Depends if you want a basic phone or not really.

Yeah to be honest I'm not that good with technology (compared to many people) so something a bit basic might be better. Love the look of the I-Phone but don't know if would be too advanced a phone for me really.

The I phone is very simple to use roofs. If I can use it then pretty much anyone can!

All touch screen phones are easy to use mate. They are very intuitive. On the installation of apps front. That is very easy on an Android phone and I'd assume on an Iphone. You choose the app you want which it then installs itself.

Very easy, search in the app store for the one you want. Click on it put your itunes password in and it downloads.

Been in the rice for over 12 hours. Tried starting it up, fully started then froze, touch screen worked quite well Tried restarting but didn't work and froze part way through.

Gonna take it to a phone repair shop and if its not overly expensive, i'll get it done.

Just had a quote of £36 to get it fixed. Does start up but is very slow/stops and the touch screen is working but seems tempremental.
The guy on the phone said they would rewrite the software, i thought it'd be more complicated than that.

I dont see how rewriting the software will fix anything, as that would not have been affected by the water.

Its easy to get a new rom(Software) and do it yourself, however the warrenty will be void on your phone unless the exact rom is used that your provider supplied.

The Defy looks alright and the fact you can drop it without breaking it sounds ideal for me! Im upgrading from an N97, been looking at a BB torch or HTC Mozart but not willing to pay over £35 p/m!!
