Grandma's House, anyone?

Did anybody watch [iWhite Heat[/i? I'm asking because when I saw [iThe Late Review[/i they were all raving about it (although it was one that didn't have Paul Morley reviewing). I started watching but couldn't keep up after cliche overload in the first three shows. The acting was uniformly good but the script was like a bucket list of retro issues being shoehorned into what was looking like an interesting drama. It took me three weeks to watch the third episode when I saw it was called [iDark Side of the Moon[/i, further supporting my suspicions of cliche.

Community and 30 Rock at US pace were both outstanding this week. If you have the means to obtain them, I highly recommend doing so.

If you do obtain 30 rock, try to get the East Coast version.

As no one seems to be watching it, you should be.

I love it, but I haven't got round to watching the first couple of this series yet.

Is it as good as the first?

I tried that when it first came out, I didn't get past about the first 10 mins of the first episode. When I saw a small, ageing Harvey Keitel trying to appear tough I just burst out laughing and gave it up then and there.

Yes, it's brilliant - better than the first, if anything.

Got to say this third series has been outstanding. They've really pulled out the stops and excelled themselves with a couple of shows e.g. #anniesmove, Glee club and Geoff's new psychiatrist. Those three have been really exceptional. Fingers crossed on it being picked up somewhere for another series.

Yes. When you see some of the unmitigated sh¡te the BBC tries to pass off as comedy, this stands out head and shoulders above the majority of it. Would love to see him live.

Another good episode of Homeland last night. Still think the head of the FBI (black guy) is the mole. Clare Danes is a very good actress on this showing

Still can't understand why Parks and Recreation isn't shown in UK compared to a lot of the rubbish with have to suffer on the likes of E4. It is one of the funniest US comedies around. The second season was one of the most consistently funny seasons i've watched.

At the moment the shows i am keeping up with out of America are:

Parks And Recreation - Brilliant but not as funny this season unfortunately.

Community - Has some really great episodes and then some not so great.

The Office US - At one point was easily the show i looked most forward to viewing new episodes. At the moment it is just horrible. Catherine Tate's character is just so bad.

Big bang thoery - What can i say i like comedy.

Modern Family - A show that has really grown on me and in parts is very good.

The Finder - Don't know why i started to watch this show but i am enjoying it. Has some nice twists in each episode.

Game Of Thrones - Brilliant show, though it will be hard to top season 1.

NYC 22 - I enjoyed first episode but slowly lost interest in it.

Completely lost interest in trying to keep up with Simpsons, Family guy and the other adult comdies, with exception to Archer.

I quite like The Finder.

Agreed. The imagination and inventiveness of American sitcoms at the moment far exceeds what we've been offering although I've not yet seen [iRev[/i or [iGrandma's House[/i (which I've just learned about on here). I tried a couple of the new Channel 4 ones but none really excelled. I'm open to recommendations if anybody can point me in a new direction for British sitcoms.

The first two episodes of Series 2 are on the iPlayer now. It's well worth watching Series 1 first if you can get hold of it, though. I've not seen a better British sitcom for years.

At the moment i've found so little UK comedy shows interesting. Watched a few episodes of Rev and Grandma's House. Wasn't really blown away by either but they weren't bad. I have enjoyed:

2012 - Mockumentary on London 2012.

Phoneshop - Definitely the marmite of comedy shows and i love it.

Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle - Great 2nd series with more on the way but not for a while apparently.

Really struggling to think of much more for past year or so.

A thoroughly enjoyable series.
