It is only possible to ask when the attempt to cover it up comes to life light which in this case was because he was having to deal with another attempted cover up. The evidence he tried to hide from the first investigation was released to a second investigation disclosing a possible third which is so new it is still to be investigated. I am afraid not rocket science even you could find it but I guess you don’t because he makes you look a fool to continue to defend his actions.

The second investigation was provided with evidence that was released to the public yesterday which immediately raised additional questions regarding his actions.

The overspend argument could be really interesting, it may be wise not to look at HS2 or pretty much any major project, they rarely come in under budget ?

As a sub contractor I am well aware of cost overruns. I agree also that most major projects always finish up over budget. However it’s the placing of contracts on the conference that is under investigation. Also the companies involved are linked to certain trade Union leaders.
My point is dodgy deals aren’t exclusive to the Tory party.. Almost forgot Peter Mandelson ,seem to remember him mixed up in some dubious loans.

NOBODY should be above the law and if there are underhand deals or "dodgy" favouritism going on then, those involved should be brought to account.

As per normal you misread my posting. Under no circumstances am I defending the Tory government, they are a pretty shabby bunch. Mandelson in fact resigned on 2 occasions, then obviously went on to make a fortune in the EU. Likewise with Blair the warmongering specimen. I am merely making the obvious point that the tories haven’t got exclusive rights to sleaze .

Ultimately, the MP's are public servants and broadly speaking, they should receive the same level of pay increase as the rest of the public sector.
I find it ridiculous that they have their own "independent" body which recommends their pay increases but, they can then issue a public sector pay freeze.
