I'm enjoying Homeland so far and I've managed to watch the first 6 episodes. Some of the twists are quite predictable (like the whole thing with him doing the prayers at the end of episode 2 - saw that coming a mile off) - I think it's quite similar to 24 and I'm expecting more 'shocks' along the way. I get the feeling that everything is going to point to him having been turned into a terrorist, only for it to be revealed to be the complete opposite.'"
thats my thinking too.

Funny enough, she scrubs up quite well occasionally, she's the BBC's new big thing, particularly Radio One, you know what they're like at the BBC, once they ''discover'' somebody they put them on every conceivable programme that they can, (see Nick Knowles, Chris Hollins, Alesha Dixon)

| Ah, you mean like the unfunny James Corden and Ricky Gervais? One is fat and makes jokes about that to the extent of all else, the other doesn't even have that in his favour.

| Finally finished watching Homeland - I won't ruin it, but I thought the lead up to the finale and the finale itself were a bit meh. I'll stick with the second series for a few episodes to see what direction it goes in, but can see myself giving up on it.

| Watched Storyville on BBC4 last night. An episode called Blindsight....An expedition to take 6 blind Tibetan kids up the Himalayas to a peak called Lakphar Ri, 23,500 feet, and in the shadow of Everest...Very moving and humbling to watch their efforts. They didn't quite make it to the summit but wasn't what the journey was all about.

Quite, another one i'd forgotten, along with the blonde piece from the Corden vehicle Gavin And Stacy... itself about as funny as a stubbed toe

| When did watching former celebrities eating dinner begin to be classed as entertainment? Moreover, whose life is empty enough that they will actually tune in and watch this sort of garbage every week?

I enjoy that program, harmless, easy watching, but informative at the same time.
Why do the rest of my family prefer to watch shoite on the other channels, where did I go wrong ?

Apart from the fact that Monty Halls is a fooking lightweight, I also have been enjoying it. I'm recording it McLF, so drop me a PM
Tonight's show was especially enlightning regarding the British aversion to shellfish and spider crab in particular. The view of the fishmonger's slab in the French supermarket was a joy to behold and the fact that French families look upon spider as a special treat, akin to our Sunday roast.
What the series has so far shown to me is how little we value our under 10 metre fleet. These guys are commercials that want to see further generations following them to sea but the odds are stacked against. Last week a young crew member was leaving to go to Cumbria to skipper a windfarm tender, in the hope that he could make enough money to come back and buy his own boat. What are the odds on a fishing community still being there when the time comes? As in many areas in the South West, 2nd homes have driven property prices skywards, while wages have become depressed. As one fisherman said tonight, the place will one day become a ghost town

Can you buy spider crab down there?
Presumably you could if you wanted to.
How much a kilo would it cost?
The French were paying about 7 Euros because of transport costs mainly.
I only ask because Monty said it was 20% of that price at source and that would make it 1.4 Euros/kilo and I really couldn't believe we could buy it at that.

We certainly can buy it, straight out of the pots, my mate also freedives for them. As for price? We never weigh 'em, I simply say to the potter "I'll have that one, that one and that one, how much Bob?" (he ain't even got any scales on his boat) but a rubble sack full is around £10 for crab, price also depends on whether you have cock (more white meat) or hen crabs. Lobster's £10 per kilo. We get a good price because we give him fish-heads for pot bait.
I'm going flattie fishing today (first flattie trip this year), hopefully Bob will have some crab in his holding pens because all he had was one small lobster last Saturday

| True Blood has gone right down the toilet in season 4. I accept that it's never been what you would call 'realistic' television, but they just seem to be trying to cram in as many outlandish story lines as possible this series, and it's really suffering as a result.

| I agree. Season 4 was very messy. They need to pick a plot and make sure that it is the main focus of the season.
I would advise you to keep watching though, particularly if you are a Jessica fan (i.e. your eyes work).
