I get most of my memory and other stuff at 7dayshop - at the mo they have a same spec card at £8.99 delivered, or £16.49 for 2. There's also a 32G one for £17.89.
There's also a Dane-Elec ProLine Secure Digital (SDHC) Memory Card - 16GB - 200x - Class 10 for £7.49 and loads of others too numerous to mention.
I've not been let down by them yet so am happy to recommend.

I looked at the Transcend card on there and it's £12.49, I am wary of buying a similar alternative as the performance is important.

I agree, which is why I mentioned that 7ds have never let me down. At those prices it may be worth getting one for comparison purposes. Then you'll know. I'd cynically bet that half of them are all probably made in the same factory anyway, in Taiwan or somewhere and just badged.

| Just had three fantastic days in Liverpool - photographer's paradise!

[url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/mortonstalker/sets/72157629435524549/detail/Liverpool from the Mersey[/url
It's about 5 years since I was last there, can't believe how much has changed. Generally think the regeneration is fantastic, but on a downside really don't like the new black glass buildings on Mann Island, think they really spoil a lovely landscape, while the Museum of Liverpool enhances it, mainly due to the colour I think.
We stayed in the new Travelodge on Strand Street, some of the photos were taken from the top floor, fantastic location and it only cost us £17 a night!
Thought the Museum of Liverpool was fantastic and a lovely building inside and out, also visited The Beatles Story, which I found very disappointing.
Really enjoyed my trip on the Mersey Ferry, and as someone advised me, it's definitely the best way to get photos of the Liverpool waterfront.

Nice pictures.
So you took my advice and got on the ferry!
Like the Anglican cathedral one. Should be going for a weekend in May, all being well. Probably go to a party in the Catholic cathedral annexe / crypt.
(PS The city is a bit more imposing than the other seaport on the opposite coast, isn't it!?)

![Very Happy icon_biggrin.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_biggrin.gif) I have loads of kit with SD cards. They do include My Sony DSLRs and a JVC HD camcorder.
The other thing is I'm very good at moving stuff off the cards onto a HDD, although I can't remember the last time any SD went up the swannee on me.
I have found SanDisks very good value and they are rated with a 1m hours MTBF which is good enough for me. Unless you have a proper fancy camcorder, I'd say any transfer rate issues are more likely to be down to the camcorder than the card.
The cards I recommended are Class 10 and 200x rated which for HCSD is I'd say good enough for most things that anyone who needs to ask about economical HDSC cards might need to do. The question was about HCSD, obviously if you want to go for the SDXC you may get temporary transfer speeds well in excess of the basics. But I thought the question was about "amateur" gear at cheap prices. If you want the dog's then there's stuff like a SanDisk Extreme Pro SDHC UHS-I Memory Card (32GB, speeds up to 45Mbps) which will work great even at the North Pole but it will set you back around eighty quid.

I certainly did Dally, thanks for that. Sadly, I had planned to get the early evening ferry as the sun was going down on the Sunday evening as we got there, but due to signalling failure our 3 hour journey took 6, with a delightful 90 minutes spent in Doncaster station! Ended up not getting into Liverpool till 6pm! Add to that a girl on our table on the train arriving in Leeds having an epileptic fit and you can see it was a complex journey, thankfully my OH is a first aider and was able to help, but not a nice experience.

Thanks for the clarification, these are to go in Go Pro Hero HD 2's for sports video so the write speed is really key, I'll try the one you linked to.

| I am looking to buy a digital camera as we are expecting our first child in July. I was after some advice as to what sort of camera I should be looking for. I'm not after anything flashy something that is easy to use and produces a decnt picture. Any help much appreciated, cheers.

What have you looked at so far?
What style of camera do you want?
What is your budget?
Do you have a smartphone if so what?

Been looking at a Canon Powershot A3300 IS.
Just a slimline digital that I can point and click and get a decent image from.
Around about the £100 mark.
No.
I have absolutely no idea about what I should be looking for at all. I have only owned 1 digital camera before and that was roughly 8 years ago.

Not a bad camera to be honest, buttons aren't too small which is good.
Have a look at the Panasonic Lumix FS16 and Nikon Coolpix S3300 too, not too much between them and I'd go for what ever feels best when you hold it.

| I doubt you'll pay more than 5 or 6p. Photobox are about that kind of price for standard sizes, possibly lower once you get into the kind of volumes you're talking about.
It's not something I do much of though so I'm not sure where the real deals are.
