| I used video calls for a very short period of time a few years. Was only to one person and the novelty wore off after about the 3rd one. Fair play to Apple though, they seem to have managed to get a fair few idiots to fall for "Facetime". The OS update doesn't seem to be a big leap either, admittedly I've only played with it for 5 minutes.
What's in the pipeline with regards to Android phones? Upgrade available in a few months on my contract. The Iphone will be part of considerations but due to cost I would doubt I will choose it.

| My Iphone costs me less then my old nokia n85.
Never had an Iphone before not an apple fanatic i.e. no mac, no desire for an ipad.
Incredible bit of kit tbf, if you only want to text and call people not the phone for you, if you want everything else then the Iphone is the one.

| Can't believe how much better my Hero is performing after the 2.1 update. No lag whatsoever when switching between apps and the TouhFlo crash that happened every time I got a text has disappeared. It's like having a new phone!

| Does anyone know if there are updates for the Xperia? I guess that is an Android phone, but the Mrs is moaning about it constantly freezing on her.

| Last I heard 2.1 was coming 'Q4'.
Edit: Some good news, instead of Q4, it will now appear in late 'Q3' [url=http://blogs.sonyericsson.com/products/2010/06/16/x8-announcement-and-xperia-updates/link[/url

| Blackberry problem here.
There is Wi-Fi set up and my iPhone has absolutely no problem at all connecting and going online - I use it for my radio etc. My other manager got the HTC Desire this morning and it connected no problem.
The Blackberry finds the Wi-Fi and even goes to the login screen as everyone elses does. After this it still doesn't seem to connect to the Internet. The Wi-Fi logo is greyed out, apparently this should be white. And in the connections it just has a white dash next to it, instead of a green tick or red cross. My recommendation of getting an iPhone or something that isn't a BlackBerry wasn't really appreciated so I'd love to get to the bottom of this problem, as I get annoyed when something like this beats me!!
Thanks

| I see Vodafone have lumped a load of bloatware in with their Android update on the Desire. Hmmm, I'm with them at the moment and was looking to upgrade to the Desire next month, but this may alter my plans.

Have you tried going through the set up wizard again?

I got informed to go with someone like Craphone Whorehouse as they dont brand their phones like Orange/Voda do and the desire for me is spot on with CPW.

Yep. Got rid of the existing settings and tried fresh. It just does the same thing everytime. We can get to the work login and nothing after that. Just wondering if there is something you have to do with a BlackBerry first. Bit annoying as iPhone and HTC was just a case of turning wi-fi on and logging in once!

You are not filtering MAC addresses are you?
Check that it isn't being refused at the firewall too.

| Ok now I have a problem.
Basically I deleted some emails from my Yahoo account on my Nokia X6, I only wanted to delete them from the phone and not from my mailbox. They're not in my deleted items and I cannot find them anywhere.
To avoid this happening again I attempted to find the setting where you can select whether it just deletes from the phone or from the server - or both! I cannot find this setting nor can I find any information about it on the internet.
Blackberry was so much easier. HELP!!

Maybe a good clearout of the cache and widgets from the home screens might help.

If you can upgrade via carphone warehouse etc you can get a unbranded version. Or if you dont mind voiding your warranty it is easy enough to root the phone then upgrade the rom manually.

Might be very popular.
I have discovered something worse than owning an iPhone. T'other half owning an iPhone. Large frustrating parts of my day are now spent thus;
pmh's phone rings. It displays Ms. pmh.
pmh-"Hello"
Ms. pmh-"Hello"
pmh-"Hi, how are you I'm ju"
Butting in.
Ms. pmh "Hello, are you there?"
pmh- "Yes I can hear you, I'm ju"
Butting in.
Ms. pmh- "Hello, hello, can you hear me?"
pmh- "Oh, ffs"
pmh- Puts phone down.
