For his later work as manager at Salford and also as a BBC
radio commentator, his name lives on through
the annual award of the
Lance Todd Trophy, which is still today presented to the Man of the Match in
the
Challenge Cup Final. The award has been given since the 1946 cup
final following Todd's death in a road
accident on the way home from a
match at Oldham in 1942. He is buried in Wigan. |
