Under 19s: Wigan 30 Leeds 18 Posted by Bilko

Wigan Under 19s v
Leeds Under 19s -
Academy Phase 2
2:00pm at Co-Operative Stadium, Orrell.
An early try from Nathan Barker had Leeds 6-0 up but four
quick tries from Lewis Heckford, Liam Marshall, Macauley
Davies and Oliver Gildart had Leeds looking ominous for a
similar rout as seen against Warrington a fortnight ago.
Leeds hung in at 20-6 though and a Nick Rawsthrone try in
the 26th Minute made it 20-12 and that score remained until
Second half saw Kyle Shelford send Jake Shorrocks over
for 24-12 before a bit of biff saw Leeds prop Sam Hallas
sent off with Liam Marshall for Wigan being sin binned by
referee Andrew Bentham.
Soon after that, a good burst from Kieran Sherratt set up Callum Field to make it 30-12
after Shorrocks conversion and you thought Wigan would kick
on from here with Leeds being a man down once Marshall's
sin bin expired.
But in truth the game died a prolonged death with the
only score to follow being a Leeds one by Ben Brady to
complete a 30-18 score to Wigan.
