Summary:l

Wigan had a comfortable afternoon against Oldham at Central Park but the attendance of just 7,226 was raising eye brows in the Central Park board room. Reportedly Wigan needed an average gate of 12,000 to break even. The club was kicking off all non televised home games off at 6:30pm in this new summer era but it obviously wasn't proving that popular. Wigan would switch back to 3pm but only in 1997 because most of their remaining home games in this season went televised anyway.

Half Time:l
