Only Robert Bilkey, in what proved to be his last Wigan appearance, and Tom Prescott failed to score points in this comprehensive Challenge Cup victory over Oldham junior side Healey Street Adults. The visiting side included a player called Thomas Steele who in 1917, during World War 1, had been awarded the prestigious military honour the "Victoria Cross" after suffering 12 wounds in the Battle of Mesopotamia.
