Challenge Cup victory over Oldham junior side Healey Street Adults. The
visiting side included a player called Thomas Steele who in 1917, during
World War 1, had been awarded the prestigious military honour the "Victoria
Cross" after suffering 12 wounds in the Battle of Mesopotamia. |
