A game of two halves. Widnes led 6-0 at the break with
two tries from Hampson but their was a strong wind advantage and once the
sides turned round Wigan fought back. Benny Rouse had been absent injured
for a big chunk of the first half but returned after the break to score a
try and two more later from Jimmy Barr completed the turnaround. The title
was also decided on this Easter Monday with Oldham's slender 3-0 win away at
Millom being enough to win the league by a point from Swinton.
