Drop Goals each for first David Traynor and then John
Winstanley made it 2-2 before Saints found a try from Traynor that he
converted for 7-2. They increased that lead to 10-2 before half time with a
second try for Traynor. Wigan found a response second half but it came late
with Jack Blackburn's try being converted by John Winstanley for a final
score of 10-7.
