Manningham had been the inaugural Rugby League Champions
a year earlier and had finish second in the Yorkshire competition this
season, so this Challenge Cup victory was quite a scalp for a Wigan side
that had a poor season overall. Wigan forced a 3-0 lead in the first half
after Jack Blackburn's try. In the second half Jimmy Walkden kicked a "goal
from mark" to send Wigan through 7-0. |
