With eight new teams joining the breakaway "Northern
Union" in it's second season, the league was split up into Lancashire and
Yorkshire sections. Morecambe were amongst the new sides, playing their
first match here against Wigan. They fell behind when John Timoney put Wigan
3-0 ahead after scoring from a lineout. Gardner scored to level the scores
at 3-3 but a penalty goal from Jimmy Walkden put Wigan back ahead 6-3. No
scoring occurred after half time.

points. Goal from Mark - 4 points.
