The fans at Prescott Street were left waiting with Batley
arriving late for the game. Wigan had taken the lead with a Charlie Wilding
try but Batley equalised soon after for a 3-3 score. Later in the first half
Johnny Roberts scored near a corner flag to make it 6-3 to Wigan by half
time. Into the second half a second try from Roberts and one from Teddy
Flowers made it 12-6 to Wigan. Further scores saw the match finish 20-3 to
Wigan but because of the late kick off the match finished in darkness.
