Notes:l Wigan needed to win or draw this match to clinch a play off spot, but the failure meant Halifax (six points behind but with three games in hand),
still had hope of over-hauling us, if they won all three of their remaining league matches. Wigan had to wait around for a full seven days to see if they
could achieve that, and Halifax did, beating Hull 24-0, Keighley 23-5 and Doncaster 26-7, to end our hopes on points average. Points Average was
decided by points for being divided by points against (rather than the taking away you see today with the modern points difference). Halifax's points
average finished up at 2.15 with ours on 1.96, meaing they took fourth place. On the modern points difference we actually ended with a slender
advantage of +5 points. Anyway, in the end Wigan finished fifth and thus rued this defeat as it ended up costing them a "top four" play off spot.

This Match had been Previously Postponed on Saturday 26th February 1955 (3:00pm) due to Frozen Pitch.
