Summary:l

Wigan had lost at Workington the previous month but got a good home win this time. Gus Risman had kicked Workington into a 2-0 lead but Wigan hit back with a contentious try from Brian Nordgren that was given despite it looking like he had knocked on. A try from Norman Cherrington made it 6-2 before half time, then early in the second half tries from Ernie Ashcroft and a second from Nordgren made it 12-2 and that score was never dented.
