Wigan had led 6-0 with tries from Ernie Ashcroft and
Brian Nirdgren but two penalty goals late in the first half from Bath
reduced that led to 6-4 at Half Time. A further penalty made it 6-6 early in
the second half. Warrington now had all the momentum but Wigan managed a
third try against the run of play from Dai Bevan made it 9-6 to Wigan.
Warrington though responded immediately with a try from Price that Bath
converted for a 11-9 lead. A fourth penalty goal from Bath made it 13-9 with
12 minutes to go and although Wigan pressed late, they couldn't find another
score. Goal Kicking misses had cost them dear here.
