Wigan welcomed back Martin Ryan for this Lancashire Cup Semi Final against Belle Vue after the full back had been injured since he got injured in a match on 1st September. In this match, Wigan had built a 10-2 lead up before Belle Vue were reduced to 12 men after referee Charlie Appleton sent their international prop Gwyther off in the 37th Minute. Rangers actually played better being a man down and got back to 10-9 down within seven minutes of the restart. That burst of energy was seen off though and Wigan pushed on to reach their 19th Lancashire Cup Final. 18,447 attended this match.
